Tommy's Family Restaurant - Mexican restaurant in Monterey Park - 1150 W Riggin St, USA

My wife and I haven't been to Tommy's Family Restaurant for years this is our first time in years. We were surprised interior looks different more modern we like it. We came here to have breakfast then we got seated right away then the hostess hand us the menu. My wife was looking at the menu then she decided order a bowl of albondiga soup and then she order a chorizo plate then I order chili Verde with egg on top. They brought the food fast and the food looks really good then I took a bite of chili Verde with pork it was amazing good and it have a kick to it mean it was spicy but good. The rice and bean were very good lots of flavors in the rice and bean including the eggs it add more flavor to the meal. My wife enjoy her albondiga soup and the chorizo plate next time we need to come again and try different items on the menu.

Found a nice restaurant named "Tommy's" American/Mexican... Amazing! Full of Flavor. Lintel Soup! Enchilada and a Chili Rinellno with Rice & Beans. Everything is freshly made!! Incredibly friendly service too!!

Unpeeled garlic in the menudo. Order was wrong and inside enchiladas were cold. I never really liked this place. It's always just ok or terrible. I only eat here because family insists on returning. From freezer tasting ice cream, cold food, tough steak or order being wrong. I haven't found a safe "good" reliable plate to order, I thought it was going to be the menudo.

It's your typical Mexican-American style diner, so you can choose what kind of meal you'd prefer. I got the usual corned beef breakfast and was pretty satisfied with my experience. Came with the corned beef, two eggs, hash browns, and your choice of toast. Price is pretty good, still under $10 given currently economic conditions. Staff and other patrons were friendly, so I'd recommend you stop by!

Stay away from the frozen food not fresh, get the food that's cooked daily like rice beans salads vegetables that are not frozen like California blend. Soups are made fresh often sometimes so hot you can't eat it for 10 minutes till it cools down. French fries shrimp and fish sticks are dry over cooked and taste like freezer burn. Salsa corn chips are delicious. This place is ok for breakfast lunch or dinner so long as you get the stuff that they cook fresh daily it has TV to watch. The service is good. A bit over priced and the menu is way to big this place has like 40 dishes to choose from.
