What a great, rustic restaurant! The hamburger was really good and had a very tasty bun. They also have home made root beer which was really good. The beer came in 8 oz or 10oz, which seemed small, but it might be because Idaho springs is over 7,500 feet and alcohol is more potent at higher elevations. Overall, it's a good restaurant in a very historic part of town.
The waitress was super sweet and helpful. Huge portions of appetizers! We got the nachos which was a lot for two people. The toasted corn was yummy. The mushroom truffle pizza was good too. Vegetarian options available. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available along with street parking.
We stopped here on our travels from Denver to the Western Slope of Colorado. The seasonal Jack Whacker Wheat Beer has been my favorite for years, and it did not disappoint! The Mac and Cheese made with Brie, Gruyère, and Cheddar cheeses was so creamy and flavorful. I ordered it with burnt ends, and it was delicious! We couldn’t decide between Smothered Green Chili Fries or Garlic Parmesan Truffle Fries, so we got both, and they were both tasty. We also recommend the Mountain Melt Sandwich! Metered parking is available along the block and behind the building.
Really pleasantly surprised by this place. Happy hour menu (duck & corn wontons especially) were absolutely delicious. Beers and food otherwise was great. Had an awesome time here.
Fantastic beer selection to go with a solid menu lineup, Everyone in your group should be able to find something that they'll like, lots of unique choices and interesting options available. Recommend you get a flight of beer and pick what you like from the offering, so many incredible choices, I am glad we took the time to stop and eat!
Hey! I really enjoyed this place. We came in on a Friday evening and met up with some friends. The wife and I both ordered the Motherlode IPA which supposedly is supposed to be a top IPA in the US? Not sure of the validity of that claim... Well I really liked it anyway, and I'm thinking about buying a few cans if I can find it in their fridge area. At first the waitress brought out the wrong beer, a sour one. It's not for me, but our friend tells me she liked it. For food, my wife got the fish tacos which comes on a flour tortilla with slaw, fried white fish, and a creamy sauce. I got the 7 dollar bowl of "award winning" red chili. I can truthfully say it was pretty delectable, though pretty spicy so proceed with caution. It had some brisket or pulled pork in there along with an assortment of beans (magical fruit). I also got a basket of onion rings, which were great and exactly what I look for in rings. 3 beers, fish tacos, chili, and rings ran us 69 dollars when you include tip. I suppose that's to be expected in a tourist trap. Overall I'd recommend the experience to anyone passing through Idaho Springs.
My friend and I ate a late lunch here and both ordered food and beers. Good atmosphere and I think we both liked our meals. Wish the green chili small cup might have had juuuust a little bit more, because it was really tasty but it truly is like a measuring cup worth of chili. The pumpkin beer is 👩🍳 💋!
Delicious lobster mac and cheese, truffle fries, and a nice beer selection supported by great service from the staff. Beers to go in the fridge or get crawlers and growlers of the beer on tap. Highly recommend it!

Amazing mountain pies! We stopped here on our way to Breckenridge and then a week later stopped again on our way back to Denver. Both times was amazing! A small 1lb came with 6 slices and was enough for me and my husband. The first time we tried the
Donât know what the bad reviews are talking about! The Den bison burger was a delicious flavor combination, and the cheese curds were top notch. Great tap list and bar, awesome homey atmosphere away from the crowds, and friendly service!
