Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar - Japanese restaurant in Beaumont - 4438 Dowlen Rd #104, USA

This is my second time visiting. The first time was over 9 years ago on me and my husband's first date. (From Louisiana) This time, a friend of mine took me here. The food was so delicious. I had a seafood salad for an appetizer. [It is big enough to be a meal, though]. I had the Passion roll with soy paper and the Khamakazi roll with soy paper. The Passion roll was the best sushi roll I've ever had. WOW. All those flavors were having a party in my mouth. Then that splash of lemon at the end. AMAZING. I will definitely be back!! Hopefully, it won't take me another 9 years to return, though. 😘) We now live in Texas!!

Wonderful place - our go-to for sushi. We are from out of state and would go here every day if we could. This trip the waitress was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Food was wonderful as always. We ordered an assortment of sushi and tried the tempura combination for the first time. Delightful. Time to try dessert!

This place was completely messed up tonight. They were very busy, but they didn't have any silverware available. They also didn't have any of the little bowls for soy sauce. They seemed to be short staffed and just simply "off their game" in general. Maybe they were overwhelmed, but, yikes... Also, since they remodeled some time last year, they no longer have hibachi tables. They only offer food service tables. I don't know the reason for the change, but we have another location of Tokyo in Beaumont, and I believe they still have hibachi tables.

I love this restaurant! I crave it. I usually order the Kilauea Roll/ Poseidon Roll / Hell Hot Roll / California Roll… Occasionally I’ll get something from the grill. The fried rice and the veggies are so yummy!! The only thing I could complain about is the lettuce for the ginger dressing. I prefer more leafy green lettuce . I have been the unlucky one to get those big hard chunks from the base of the lettuce 🤣😳. But that ginger dressing is so good that I could just drink!

Service was good, sushi was ok. The steak was way overcooked, mushrooms had a nasty bitter taste, their idea of veggies is just onion and zucchini, the ginger dressing was gross, and this is the ONLY hibachi restaurant I’ve ever been to that just doesn’t serve yum yum sauce at all.. $145 after the tip to leave most of the food on the table.. sad. I’m only giving them 2 stars for the service Our water was great

Absolutely dreadful. Probably the worst "Hibachi" place I've ever been to. 1. The waiter was clueless about the menu. But perhaps he's new, so I'll pass. 2. The food was overpriced garbage. I ordered the Hibachi Chateaubriand Centercut Tenderloin. What I got was a slop of cubed sirloin. 3. I also ordered a tempura Kevin Bacon roll. I can't even describe how awful it was. Bland and a very strange concoction of chicken, cream cheese, rice, and Jalapeño. 4. We decided...screw it, might as well complete the evening with desert. I ordered Banana Tempura with vanilla ice cream. However, the waiter informed me that "For some reason we are out of ice cream"...So their entire desert menu is ice cream btw...LMFAO Not gluten friendly. The decor and atmosphere was as bland and boring as the food. I'd fly to Japan before paying 75 bucks for another sit down.

If I could give a zero, I would I literally just had to seat myself after standing at the door for 10 minutes and then sit at the bar where everyone can see me, but they left me sitting there for almost 30 minutes without asking me about a drink, handing me a menu or anything. I literally had the entire staff walked by me more than once, including the manager, and no one ever spoke one word to me. this is absolutely unacceptable and it was the worst experience ever in Beaumont Texas. So I went to the manager and let him know how very disgusting it was. He was one of the employees that walked by me look at me and never spoke to me even as I walk through the door… coming from Louisiana I was not expecting the horrible service. I heard it was good but I’ll never know.. no worries .. I’ll never be back with that type of service
