Tokyo Express - Japanese restaurant in Hillsborough - 145 Mayo St, USA

Just got home with takeout of two Hibachi Chicken orders from Tokyo Express. One was fine but the other had absolutely no chicken in it! Called the restaurant and they wouldn't do anything unless I drove 20 minutes back over there to show them. They said I needed to prove I wasn't lying!!! We were fairly regular customers but NO MORE!

Yummy hibachi! I get take out from here several times a year when I'm in town. I usually get the shrimp hibachi but I got the chicken hibachi today and was surprised by how tender and juicy it was. I guess I expected it to be a little dry or rubbery, based on previous experiences at other hibachi places. Same goes for the shrimp--easy to overcook but it's always been perfect every time in recent memory that I've gotten at this particular establishment. The service is friendly and very quick. The price has gone up over the years, as it has at every restaurant, but the portion sizes here are huge! I get 2-3 meals out of every meal I buy here. Can't beat that value. I'm interested to try their newly added sushi menu sometime when I'm in the mood for sushi.

very very good service all the young ladies in the front and the cooks in the back very very hard workers. they do very good and try their very best. i LOVE this place to go and eat. bring out food so fast and very good sauce. prices are fair for what you get. definitely recommend going and i’m definitely coming back!!!

This is mostly a takeout place but they do have some seating. It was neat and clean. The lady that took my order spoke English very well. She was helpful got our order right the first time. I had the shrimp habichi that was very good and plenty of food. I also had a sushi roll that was also really.

I eat here all the time, but new prices have not been updated... very misleading! When I placed an order the kid that answered the phone was very rude abt my concern, after quoting a price that almost $3 more than displayed on the site. She never apologized for the inconvenience... just asked "do you want the hibatchi chicken or not?". I ended up cancelling the order... due to such rudeness and inconsiderate conduct! You should really consider training the younger generation you hire, to use better customer service skills! So annoying!

Typical. Not bad. Not great. I paid extra for double meat. They are definitely skimping

I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi box and paid a little over $18, which was not bad. The food was fresh and good expect for my steak which was tough and overcooked. The carrots are a bit sweet, but it was tolerable mixed in with the other vegetables. Overall the food was good, but I won't be ordering steak from here again. The staff was very polite and they even apologized for my wait time.

If I could give a one star I would .... Order Hibachi Chicken and Hibachi Steak And 2 Philadelphia Rolls total of almost $42 Get home start eating and both entrees have hair in them Long hair.... intertwined with the veggies Sushi had brown avocado with spots Called and she actually told me no one there had hair... ummm okay Well I won't be going back which is unfortunate because I used to love this place and it only Japanese in Hillsborough..... I wish I could add pic of Sushi with nasty spots.....
