Toftrees Golf Resort - Resort hotel in State College - 1 Country Club Ln, USA

Positive: Room was average. It is an older resort. I think in its day it was a beautiful place to stay. Very outdated. I Negative: I did read reviews before I booked our stay. Some guests said the sheets were dirty. Ours were fine. The one BIG problem was in the morning when we were leaving I noticed our mattress had a huge stain on it. The mattress pad was ripped

We truly enjoyed our stay on a lovely Golf Course. Rooms are a tiny bit dated, but all in all the hotel/conference and wedding venue is in great condition. The Field is a great bar and restaurant with Super Views! We really enjoyed the breakfast - price point very fair. Coffee in reception in the morning. Really really wonderful staff!!! Only mini drawback was thin connecting doors (noise from neighbours!) and smokers sitting on Terrace underneath us. Will def stay again!

Positive: The room was nice. The bathroom was very cool. But the restaurant was the best. The alcoholic shakes were amazing. As was the table fries. Negative: Coffee was too strong

I booked a room on October 22nd and planned to check in on December 15th. Because my plans changed, I tried to change my check-in time online on Nov 26, but found that I couldn't change it. So I contacted the hotel and was told that the hotel would be closed starting December 1st. I was asked cancel my booking. I didn't get any emails or phone calls about the hotel closing. If I hadn't changed my schedule today, it would be unimaginable how terrible it would be for me to drive 6 hours to the hotel with my young children and find out that I couldn't check in. Very irresponsible hotel management. too bad!

Quick day golf trip. This was one of the most pristine courses I've played on. You'd think it was a private country club with how well it was run and the everything you encounter for golf. The course is immaculate. The practice area for range with golf balls at each station, practice chipping, and putting were beautiful. Yardages on the range for ease. The course itself is well maintained and beautiful scenery. Greens are challenging as all heck, and I was pre-warned. Pro shop staff, Arthur and starter Jim, were extremely kind and welcoming. Thank you very much for making my day of golf perfect that much better. Golf carts are electric and in amazing shape. Super comfortable. Sand traps were fluffy and well groomed. Two bathrooms on the course itself on hole 7 and I want to say 14..?. As a female, I thank you kindly. 😊 I can't wait to return to this course, and I'm bringing more friends to experience what I was raving about.

There were some good but the disgusting bad outweighed the good. The pool was nice and beds|were comfortable, aside from the nastiness listed below. Some staff was nice, others lacked hospitality.|I have never had such a disgusting stay with lack of care from staff. I pull my sheets back and check the|bed at every hotel. I did the same for this one. Apparently I need to completely strip the bed because after I slept in the bed and woke up the next morning I found blood, what looked like period blood, all over the bottom portion of the bed where your feet rest. Sheets, comforter, etc. The top decorative sheet they lay over the whole bed covered the blood so I didn't see it till I had slept in it the first night and woke up to the bedding being disheveled from moving around at night. I called the hotel operator and told them|and their response was, "ok". I said I'M NOT BLEEDING! Obviously my bedding WAS NOT changed before I got here. I want someone to come change my bedding when I leave. Their response was again OK, what room are you in. No sorry given, no we apologize, nothing. I told him my|room, he asked when I was leaving and then said they'd send someone up to change the sheets. Still no apologies. Not only is that the most|disgusting and disturbing thing l've encountered at any hotel but the reaction, or lack there of, is completely unprofessional and inhospitable!

The hotel and restaurant were fantastic for a quick stop on our road trip with our young kids. The staff could not have been nicer and helpful! The food was excellent. ||||The hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable and the property was tranquil and quiet.||||The golf pro shop could have been more friendly, but I commend the rest of the staff on an excellent experience. ||||

I attended a conference at Toftrees. The staff were friendly and the conference facilities and lodging were first rate. I was served meals at the conference, but also ate one meal in the hotel restaurant with my spouse. The food at the restaurant was excellent with good portion size.
