Tin Lizzy's Cantina - Tex-Mex restaurant in Buford - 3333 Buford Dr, USA

Food was good, service was slow, maybe it was a bad time idk. Took forever to get a drink and when I asked for a glass for my beer I got one with ice. Also the bathroom had a broken toilet and towel machine. We'd probably go to another place next time we're there.

What can I say. It’s been a few visits and I try to give them a chance. I went last year got my purse stolen by a staff member who is no longer an employee.i took a break from the restaurant for a few months so we went last night to get them since it’s been a while. It was 9pm They don’t close till 12am on Saturday so everything should be smooth. I saw one large party but nothing crazy. Our food came out missing the items we ordered. Like shrimp for one the meals. The meal I ordered was dry and u didn’t get the take I ordered as well. The server was nice so can’t blame her for the kitchen mistakes. However I think I’m going skip this restaurant and go to another location if I feel for texmex

Very chill place. We went early in the day, just after open. Our server was Zoe, she was very sweet. Chips and queso were an amazing starter, the chips had a delicious seasoning on them and they were very crispy and light. I got the Baja Fish and the Big Greek, which were absolutely delicious. The rice and beans side is kinda meh for me. Boyfriend got the Southern Comfort and Low Country Boil tacos. I didn’t like the southern comfort, the goat cheese with bbq sauce threw me off. His low country boil was really good though according to him, the spice just hits you in the back of the throat instead of up front.

We stopped by for a bite before watching a movie. It wasn't crowded for a Friday night which was a surprise. I tried the lobster taco which was good and so was the shrimp quinoa bowl.

We've been eyeballing this restaurant ever since they opened. Every time we drive south to do our shopping, we go through the same list and finally we said, "Let's try it." Tuesday afternoon dining room was quiet and peaceful. Music was an ear tingling blend of different genres, literally something for everyone. Menu's were very explanatory, though we had our questions. DJ was our server. He was polite, personable, and very knowledgeable of the items offered. We all tried something different so we could get a taste of what they have. My GOSH the tacos are tasty, filling, and exactly what DJ described ... not spicy hot, just flavorful. My son got the Taco Salad and said it was very good. We are happy to announce that Tin Lizzy is now our official goto when we visit the Mall, and I honestly can't WAIT for next time.

First time dining at Tun Lizzy's Cantina in Buford. The place was pretty big and had multiple rooms to accommodate many diners. Crystal, our server was fantastic. She was very kind and very fast on her feet getting any request we asked for. From side plates to hot sauce. She came back with it in seconds. She had an energized personality and that added to our positive dining experience. The menu has a lot to offer. Something to please even the pickiest restaurant guest. Awesome kale and mushroom tacos, quesadillas and their taco salad was very fresh. They have a big bar and plenty of beverages to choose from. It was pretty cold in the restaurant. Maybe they were conserving energy. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Food was delicious!😋. I had the Cantina bowl with grilled shrimp. The atmosphere was casual, a little loud at times but still good. They do have a bar where you can sit if you choose or tables for bigger parties or if you want more intimate seating. Drinks were also good. Oh and my friend had the tacos and she said they were amazing. So go try it for yourself. UPDATE: My last visit on August 12, 2023, was definitely not the best experience. The service, and atmosphere was still all good but food while it tasted delicious going down gave me food poisoning. 😳 😩 As soon as I got home (thank God I made it home because I was driving) I felt faint, flush, and then extremely hot. Apparently I did pass out because all I remember is being woken up by someone shaking me and telling me to turn over. I was on my back and vomiting. Ugh, horrible experience. I ordered another bowl (can't remember the name) and my daughter had the chicken quesadilla and we had the fried pickles for an appetizer. Ordered a slice of cheesecake and, to go, a slice of the seven layer chocolate cake. 😋

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. It is definitely not an authentic Mexican restaurant. They do have plenty of taco options so if that’s your thing then this restaurant may interest you. They do have chip and dips that you can order as appetizers that are plenty for the table. The chips are served hot which I like. They are also slightly seasoned so it almost tasted like eating Doritos. Our table ordered the skillets. They are not very large. Kind of reminded us of nacho dip toppings and were more enjoyable eaten with the chips than alone. They do serve really good drinks! I enjoyed that and the servers were very kind! I just didn’t really feel like the food was very impressive.
