What a lovely retreat, nestled in the woods and overlooking a small lake. It was very quiet, although close to every sight we wanted to visit. |Beverly is a warm hostess and made us feel immediately at home, offering us fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies. She gave us the history of this historic home and let us explore the beautifully restored and furnished living rooms. She also recommended several restaurants for dinner. |Our charming room was immaculately clean, the bathroom modern with all the amenities we needed. The bed was SO comfy, and we appreciated the desk and sitting areas. |Breakfast was delicious- warm and nutritious. It was a good send off for our busy day. |I highly recommend staying at Thurson House. We plan to return.
Such a beautiful home. The room was comfortable,spacious and beautiful. Of course the clawfoot bathtub was excellent! Breakfast was amazing! The quice and omlette. Berries. Orange juice. Quiet grounds. Huge screened in porch. Sleeping porch that overlooked the lake . I very much enjoyed breakfast visits with Beverly! Learning about the house renovations was fascinating. The old wooden cistern is still in the attic! The old photo album shows the amount of care that went into reviving this house. The property is located near historic Eatonville,Maitland Art Center and downtown Winter Park. Outstanding. Many thanks to Beverly for her kindness.
Dad and I were in Winter Park for some family business. Beverly was the most amazing hostess. Her breakfasts were beyond compare and the presentation was absolutely beautiful. The bedrooms were extremely clean and comfortable! It’s an amazing oasis in a pretty densely populated area. Nice to be able to come and relax- beautiful lake view, don’t even think twice definitely book your stay now!
What a delightful and lovely place Thurston House was! Beverly is the ultimate in being welcoming AND as a chef! Breakfasts were so delicious and filling, and different every day of the 7 mornings we were there. The rooms are well equipped with everything you need for comfort including a desk, comfortable chairs, and comfortable pillows and beds. There's a lovely porch overlooking a lake where we spend time reading and chatting, and many delicious and nearby places for dinner. If we're ever in this area again, we'd definitely make a return visit! Well done, Beverly! Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!
A really charming B&B. A great respite from the craziness around Orlando. Comfortable and cozy rooms (great towels and sheets!). The grounds are gorgeous and Beverly’s breakfasts are not only delicious but the presentation is also lovely! Absolutely would recommend.
Had a great 3day visit with friends!! Perfect house to relax in as it was hot outside! From 5 star breakfasts, tasty afternoon treats to happy hour wine Beverly was a wonderful host. Had great ideas for us as well screened in porches would have been a nice bonus but it was a bit hot ! Wonderful stay!! Learned the history of the area as well !!
What a warm and welcoming place Thurston House Bed and Breakfast was. A lovely house with a wonderful porch overlooking a lake. The breakfasts were outstanding and different every day of the 7 we were there. Beverly was friendly and delightful, offered ideas for places to see and go, and was an excellent chef. When we asked for a certain time for breakfast, it was always ready at that time. The beds were comfortable, there were chairs to sit in for reading or TV watching in your room, as well as in the living room and parlor downstairs, or on the porch. The B&B is close to Winter Park, but there are also many convenient and delicious places to eat nearby in the Maitland area. We enjoyed our stay at Thurston House immensely! Absolutely a wonderful experience. Beverly was gracious and a wonderful hostess, chef and knew the area. We came to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed the house, lake and beautiful grounds. The room was so well kept and comfortable. We will enjoy coming again soon.
