Today was a good day on the TN-Bridge. I've been on here for an 1 1/2+ a time or 2 when there was an accident on the Bridge or the 🛣 leading on or off.
The primary objective of any structure of this nature is to effectively connect points with minimal impact to the user leveraging these platforms.
This bridge provides great views of the New York City skyscape and surrounding communities unfortunately it's notoriously inept at performing the simple task of maintaining a constant flow of traffic between points.
Over the last 5 years there has been construction on this bridge during rush hour impeding the flow of traffic with lane closures forcing continuous lane mergers and elevated driver frustration throughout the journey.
This is definitely not a 3 to 5 star infrastructure platform; the views have nothing to do with the core objective.
On the 18th of December the first time I can remember in quite sometime that this bridge had zero lane closures (in both directions) with traffic flowing and zero obstructions post ez-pass scanner implementation.
My commute on the 18th of December should be the norm when crossing this structure especially with the elimination of the Toll Booths in favor of overhead ez-pass scanners.
That was a great commute.
The second bridge that connects The Bronx and Queens ( Little Neck)
We went act the bridge to get to Long Island. The view of NYC is amazing!
Great place to come everyday! Kids will love it, there is place to ride your bikes, have a picnic, fish and enjoy a beautiful sunset. They only con is the parking... be patient)
Well lite at night, and an amazing view, a feat that New York has taken and ran with.
This like all of New York’s bridges are a true breath taker. I love to come to New York and feel like a kid from all the breath taking high rises!!!
The Throgs Neck Bridge is a very needed Bridge that connects to Long Island, NY.
The traffic during rush hours on this Bridge could be very tough, but if you plan your travel and go before or after rush hours, you'll be okay.
Besides, the view on that Bridge, when you look around, is BEAUTIFUL!!!
New York is BEAUTIFUL !!!
I love New York! ♥️
After they installed the new automatic toll system, l don't experience heavy traffic jam anymore.
I can only speak to having kayaked under it 17 times during circumnavigations of Manhattan and from reading about its history and that of the previous bridge and itâs dam.
