Nice place but upgrades are needed in the older sections. Bathhouses and mini golf should be refurbished. I had no hot water in the new bathhouse in G section. This is overall a nice park. Could be an absolute beauty if corporate would spend a little money on updates. Please have more sites for travellers, not just the seasonals and annuals.

My daughter rented us a cabin for New Years week. We were located on the lake and had a beautiful view of the park. Everything was included as far as linens and dishes. We had a wonderful time walking the dogs through the woods and loved visiting Lexington and Winston Salem. The staff was very professional and friendly and the grounds were just beautiful. I look forward to returning to this peaceful park in the future and meeting more of the residents.

Family vacation with our new 5th wheel, we were excited to explore another TT campground. This was a nicer campground than our first TT experience in northwestern SC. One of the bath houses (closer one to our campsite) was older and out of service so we used the newly built bath house near the front of the campground. The new one was very nice and clean. Staff were friendly and attentive when needed. Campground was easy to maneuver.

Beautiful well cared for campground in a natural setting with lots of activities. We love this place! The putt-putt course needs a LOT of revamping, but the buildings and grounds are very nice. The new bathhouse was desperately needed and much appreciated, especially since the one in G only has a functioning men's side.

This is not a resort, it is an unkept trailer park. Upon my arrival, the site was littered with cigarette butts, and trash. Garbage was even left in the fire pit. How anyone would expect that this site was ready for the next camper is inconceivable. The pump was not insulated properly and leaked consistently causing a freezing issue in the mornings. The sewer connection was higher than appropriate even with proper lifts. The bathhouse closest to my site was out of order due to tree roots growing into the septic, yet I was placed at this site anyway. I guess I should have just roughed it and walked all the way to the next restroom. On my second day, I did see a worker using a leaf blower to clear a site for the next camper. Obviously, this did not happen at the site I was given. What happened to being able to pick your own site as stated in the instructions sent to me by thousand trails? As for "Forest River Preserve" itself, the mini golf was dilapidated and unusable. The smell of mildew and old cigarettes in the clubhouse was so strong it would be impossible to spend any time there. The size of the dog park is laughable. Not even room for one dog to run. Several of the sites that appear to be seasonal were unoccupied and had collapsed awnings, garbage left out in bad weather, broken furniture, and grills. It reminds me more of a dump than a camping resort. || In closing, I would like to add that I just purchased my RV and was given 2 free weeks at Thousand Trails. I choose to come to North Carolina for 3||days. I drove all the way from NY to sample this resort figuring I would sample different places to see if I liked the RV club prior to purchasing a membership. If this first experience is anything like the rest of the campgrounds, I will not be purchasing. Very disenchanted with the bait and switch. Perhaps they should change the brochures to reflect what the place and amenities are actually like.

We made a last minute overnight reservation and arrived after dark. (We have a legacy membership and this is one of the parks included in or membership, so we stayed for no additional out of pocket expense.) The ranger at the desk was extremely nice and she recommended a site that was easy to find and settle in after dark. It looked like a nice enough park and we plan to come back again when we aren’t rushing to get someplace else o e holidays!

I recently bought into the Thousand Trails Elite Connections plan and decided to check out a few of the local campgrounds. This place is just gorgeous. Its quiet, lovely, and pretty close to town. The women at the ranger station were polite and professional, the other campers seem pleasant, and the area is amazing. I work from home and I am stuck in my RV all day but I have a beautiful view of the forest and the lake. The whole place is decorated for fall and Halloween and they even have a little haunted house. The whole place looks like something out of a postcard. If you are looking for a gorgeous place to camp and unwind and just enjoy being alive, then this is the perfect place for that. I have already rebooked for next month.

Cabin was too rustic for our planned use. Nothing for us to do. We drove two to three hours during the day to arrive at area we wanted to visit. We left before half of our booked stay was completed. Son chose this location because location was one day drive for him and his wife and two day drive for my wife and I. Nothing available to split drive equally for us.
