Thompson Savannah, by Hyatt - Hotel in Savannah - 201 Port St, USA

WOW! The Thompson was perfect for our Savannah stay! The hotel was immaculate with gorgeous views of the river from our room! I loved watching all the boats cruise by from the window. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful! The pool area was so relaxing after a day of sightseeing and the location was so convenient to the river walk and all it had to offer. Highly recommend!

Not a single issue with this hotel. I was greeted with respect and care. Every employee was nice and kind to me at any place and time. They listened to my request and found the best solutions they can and always kept me well informed whenever they doubt I’m waiting for something or worried about something. I didn’t have to say a word. The amenities were amazing. Gym is small but adequate equipment. The pool is cute but often occupied. Rooftop restaurant was amazing. Room is nice and clean. Having a minibar and snacks in the room was a pleasant surprise. If you bring your own food or drinks there won’t be a space for your stuffs in the fridge though. It is filled with the pay-as-you-take kinda drinks and cookies.

I can't speak on the rooms because I came for a rooftop event. However, when entering the front door, everyone I met was extremely friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was elegant and it was decorated nicely. I felt like I was in a different city. This rooftop has some great views of the river and downtown as a whole. The food was good and plentiful. Customer service was great, and the atmosphere of everyone is amazing. Everyone I met including guests was so friendly and happy to be in a beautiful place. Everyone was helping each other capture the best pictures of the sunset. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

Great hotel with amazing Savannah river views. This hotel is located in a very nice area, very close to the restaurants and historic district in Savannah. The rooms are very clean and with a very nice modern touch. The staff is very kind and friendly. The Bakery and restaurant have very delicious options and the sunset from the rooftop bar are stunning.

I really enjoyed my stay here at the Thompson! The rooms are cozy, covinient and nicely decorated! I just found out during my stay here that the hotel has a courtesy car that will take you any where w/in a 3 mile radiance from the hotel for free for their guest! So, I took them up on this offer and had met Charlie, the chauffuer. He made my day while here. I was in search for a specific soda that seemed to be sold in certain areas here in GA and Charlie had taken me around the city til we found it! Thank you sooo much Charlie can't wait to come back to joy ride w/ you again real soon!😉

Let me start out with the positive, staff was wonderful, rooms were nice but a little dusty. And the distance to river street area is about half a mile or a full mile to Plant riverside area so easy walk unless it’s 100 degrees. Now for the not so great part… fees were outrageous, the price at check in kept changing , we stayed 7 days and they held $75 per day for incidentals. So that was $525 they held for the week., on top of that our bank put a hold on that hold amount with a fee so it tied up about $900 for the week with the $35 a day for resort fees you don’t get back( but knew we wouldn’t get the resort fee back going in.) Everything came with a fee. I would probably not stay here again for this reason , fees and distance. talking with other people no other hotel would charge a per day incidental. And the closer ones are nice as well. If you’re only staying one day it’s probably ok. Just be aware the fees are per day.

The Thompson is an absolutely stunning hotel set in the quiet historical downtown of Savannah. This place is close to being within walking distance to all of the restaurants and bars you’d want to go to downtown. The room is clean, with great views. They have dry snacks, cold drinks and a full bar in the room (at least the one I am in). The hotel lobby and restaurants are very fancy and clean. Every member of the staff has been more than courteous each time I see someone. I saw 2 dolphins swimming and jumping in the river and multiple paddle boats going by. I will ask for this same room each time I come back.

What a beautiful first experience visiting Savannah! Are you kidding me???!!!! The location is absolutely perfect! Away from the thick of the tourist stuff and gives you the space to take a breath and watch the big tankers coming in…..of which I never thought about the dynamics and planning of those who are in charge to make it all happen! In awe and appreciate all that goes on to make cargo/shipping happen. Back to the hotel, beds are so comfy, staff are amazing ... .from valet, check in, bell person…..a beautiful welcoming. Roof top is terrific!! The restaurant, the bakery…..wowza! It's over the top! I’ll explain more in separate reviews.
