This history walk was amazing. True nature through and through. The truth telling of what really took place on this Indian soil is not the history you learn in school. The presentation was full of history and knowledge. The visitor center is nice place to visit with family but learn the cultural history of this place and understand the magnitude of what happened at these historical places.
This is probably the nicest state park visitor's center I've ever been to. It was mostly closed, but the bathrooms were open and were immaculate. The part I could see was well kept, with community opportunities/learning and information about the park posted everywhere.
A small visitor center about the founder, Thomas Savage, preserved this wetland. Free entrance and parking to exhibit. Friendly staff. Very clean and informative center with a small shop and bathroom.
Great place for a bathroom break and refill water bottles. They even have a fresh water bowl for dogs that is connected to a tap.
Saw a possum, deer, geese & several eagles while hiking on Pike Is.
Clean, quiet and welcoming. A few information posters, merchandise and great bathrooms. Not as popular as it seems
A good place to ask questions of the staff and get recommendations on where to hike. A small but very well-done set of displays on the history of the site - the Dakota "concentration camp" and the rare fen plants found along the rivers.
Love this park and the visitor center. Good information on the Native American history. Always a good park to see wildlife too.

We had my sonâs 11th birthday party at D1 and Kris and his staff did not disappoint! The kids had such a blast the entire time playing dodgeball, tug of war and football as well as racing each other pushing the sleds. They were all exhausted when
