The Winston - New American restaurant in Norman - 106 W Main St, USA

We hadn’t eaten here in a while. The food was good. I got a The American Burger ($13) with jalapeño’s and some sweet potato fries. My wife got the Banana Pepper Caesar Salad with shrimp ($13). The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 was because of the portions. Pretty small. At the same time, the burger was only $13 (I paid extra for sweet potato fries) and the salad was $7 originally. I don’t know just a little short on value even with the lower prices. In addition to the food, we ordered a few drinks because it was happy hour. It’s a really good happy hour. It was early, probably 4:30. But I was able to get a Perfect Margarita for $4.95 when it’s usually $12. Really good deal. My wife got a Mojito. Both were good. I believe from 5pm - 6pm they go to $5.95 so still a good deal.

The Winston is a nice casual dining spot. As you walk up there are outdoor seating areas with fire pits. I thought this was a very nice touch. The dining area was nicely decorated for the holiday season. We were greeted immediately upon entering and seated with no wait. Although I didn’t catch our servers name, she was very nice and attentive. We ordered the cheesy crab dip to share. It was very tasty. The crab cheese combo is definitely a win. The toast it was served with was ok. The roasted vegetable stew was a complete win in my book. All the different textures combined perfectly. I also ordered the shrimp and grits. The addition of the vegetables and egg were interesting. The heat from the jalapeños was also amazing! The shrimp was tasty but a little over cooked. My meal was an all around success. My youngest ordered the filet medium rare. It came to the table pretty rare. They sent it back and it was returned a better temperature. My other kiddo had the spiralized veggie pasta with grilled chicken. She enjoyed it. She said both the veggies and the chicken was really good. Overall we enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be back in the future. I can’t wait to try more of what they offer.

Trenton was a fabulous server! What a great hole in the wall! The food In presentation and in flavor was phenomenal!! I hate that I didn’t take a picture of everything we ate. It was alllllll so good!

Very nice place! We tried 2 other breakfast spots and there was an hour wait at each. So we saw The Winston and thought "why not?!" There was no wait at all, so you may think "uh oh.. this might not be that good of an idea after all" We were pleasantly surprised! The brunch menu choices were great and tasted so good! We did the blueberry waffles and johnny cakes..our plates were cleaned and our stomachs full :) Every employee there that morning was smiling and so friendly 😊 We were checked on several times while we ate and felt very much at home there. Thank you for nice meal!

one of the local favorites of Norman & there’s a reason! we tried a few different burgers, the chicken sandwich, and the buffalo wontons. everything was great & reasonably priced. Go give it a try! service was good as well! Praise God!!!

Wow, this place is so upbeat, welcoming, and fun. At first, it was pretty quiet but then as the lunch crowd came in it got a little loud. It's a bar though so it was a bit expected. Everything on the menu for the most part is unique. So I'm sure you can find something you haven't had before! I had the Jerk Chicken Lettuce Bowls, my coworkers had the choose two wedge salad with half chicken salad, a choose two chicken salad with avocado toast, and then the choose two grilled cheese and tomato soup. The Jerk Chicken lettuce bowls were absolutely delicious and paired well with the fresh mangos on top. I thought I'd need some kind of salsa but the seasoning was perfect and the meat wasn't dried out. The tomato soup was good but she said it was a bit spicy, she loved dipping her sandwich in it though. Everyone loved their wedge salads, chicken sandwiches, and avocado toast. One did say the avocado toast was a bit salty as they put salt on top of it but otherwise it was great and very tasty. Our waitress, Ronna, was very friendly and attentive, she gave great recommendations and provided details when necessary. I will definitely be coming here again.

The food is absolutely AMAZING!! My family & I came & visited here & the food was literally incredible. Overall the servers were very sweet, cheerful, & high energy! We all talked about what a great new spot we found until we each paid & did not get our change back correctly/did not get our change. This would have been our new fav spot, unfortunately we won’t be coming back. Food is incredible though! Just make sure to ask for exact change/bring change!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Winston on my visit. The atmosphere is great and it stands out among all other restaurants in Downtown Norman. This concept comes from the same people who run PubW and the menu is very similar. I had a good (messy) burger and the spicy sweet potato fries. The Fries were an up charge and unfortunately were not worth the price - but still tasted good. The service was great and the Chicken tenders are excellent as well. If you treat dining out as an experience more than just a meal - The Winston is worth a try. Extensive bar area and many drink options.
