Our son and daughter-in-law stayed here last year and liked it so much they gave us a stay as a gift - and we liked it at least as much as they did! Beautifully restored historic home, and the hosts are so incredibly hospitable and accommodating. They did the restoration themselves, and if you spend an hour with Drew reviewing the history as we did, you'll wish you could spend a whole afternoon! Steph and Drew are creative and accomplished in the kitchen, and the breakfast was ... stunningly delicious. You can walk from the Willis-James to anywhere in downtown Chillicothe, and Steph will give you several good recommendations - including Drew's not-to-be-missed history shop. And Dante - well, Dante was an added bonus. | Can't say enough good things - we loved everything about it.

Who knew Chillicothe would become a favorite destination of ours? The hospitality we enjoyed at the Willis-James is 95% of the reason. The town has a fascinating history, but Steph and Drew made the whole experience magical. From the moment we arrived we felt as if we were home, and what a home it is! The love and care that was poured into the renovation of this early 19th c. house shows. And the breakfasts are simply amazing, made with fresh produce from their own garden, and herbs I saw Drew snipping each morning before we were presented with the most beautiful dishes. Things like rhubarb empanadas, and fresh corn and zucchini breakfast pie with a delicious crispy crust that was both sweet and savory. And the coffee! It’s from a local roaster and was so good we stopped on our way out of town and bought three bags. Check out Rōst Coffee. The businesses in this town support each other and their pride in welcoming visitors shows. One more thing that made our stay the best – the third host, Dante. This pup quickly figures out whether you are a “dog person” or not. We are, and he gave us plenty of opportunities to get our dog fix by cuddling up to us in a goofy, but stately manner, as if he knows that this B&B deserves decorum and manners. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

My daughter and I were in town for a softball tournament and so glad we stumbled upon this adorable B&B. This place exceeded our expectations. The house is gorgeous, spotless and in the perfect location to walk all over downtown. We stayed in the Legacy room. The room and bathroom are beautiful, the shower pressure was perfect, the bed was comfy, the bedding was so soft and the pillows were great! Steph and Drew were very friendly and accommodating and we just loved Dante, such a sweet pup! I mentioned before booking that we had to check out before breakfast was served and Steph told me they could make us breakfast to go. They got up (I’m guessing earlier than normal) and made us the most delicious breakfast sandwich and also gave us a slice of scrumptious blueberry cake. It was truly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had! If I ever need a place to stay in Chillicothe, I would not even look for something different.

Wonderful B&B, our room was large, gorgeous and so comfortable. Steph & Drew were great, so friendly and attentive to our needs. And Dante.....what a wonderful house dog. Our breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed chatting with other guests. Thank you for an amazing stay!

This is an absolutely wonderful bed and breakfast! My husband and I decided to visit the area for the weekend and to see Tecumseh, and after all the unimpressive hotels I looked at in the area I came across the Willis-James. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the best smell coming from the kitchen! Stephanie was prepping breakfast for the next day and the entire house smelled amazing. This is the cleanest place I have ever stayed - and my husband and I travel a lot. Everything was immaculate. The house itself is just beautiful and every room was decorated tastefully. The hosts were wonderful and friendly. I visited Drew's shop downtown and it is a history buffs dream! Stephanie noticed me looking thru a couple of her cookbooks, and I mentioned one in particular. To my surprise, two weeks later it arrived on my doorstep ❤️. How thoughtful! We will definitely stay here again and are sure to tell anyone we know goi.g to the area about the Willis-James.

Steph, Drew and Dante were exceptional hosts - warm, engaging and welcoming. The historic house they have restored is a treasure, and a personal tour through the house with Drew was a highlight of our stay. His breakfast presentation was also a delight - delicious and creative. Steph guided us toward great restaurant and shopping choices - and Dante provided much appreciated doggie comfort. Our first floor room was spacious and comfortable, and all of the other public rooms were perfect for relaxed lounging. The house is in the heart of Chillicothe, easy walking distance from good dining, shopping and sites of historical interest.

We had a lovely stay at the Willis James, with an incredible breakfast - sweet potato hash with eggs and the freshest local salad, plus a peach smoothie - best quality vegetables I think I’ve ever had at a B&B anywhere, the whole breakfast was delicious! The hosts were so friendly and the space was beautiful as well - a well-restored historic house with multiple comfortable common spaces, tea and cold beverages available anytime, and luxurious beds and pillows. The location was great too - a very short walk to the downtown area with shops and restaurants and the local park nearby. It was a wonderful stop on our road trip, would recommend to any travelers looking for something special!

Not enough words to articulate how perfect our stay was. The property is immaculate. Stephanie and Drew were gracious hosts. Every breakfast was outstanding. Dante the Weimaraner made our stay even more special. We stayed five nights in the Legacy room and it was genuinely clean, comfortable and refreshing to be able to call that home for nearly a week. The rooms have been meticulously restored with modern luxury while maintaining the character and history of the original home Nathaniel Willis built in 1805. We loved the music streaming in the background. We were in Ohio under sad and stressful circumstances and our stay at The Willis James was a true blessing. Highly recommend you treat yourself to this gem. By the time we left, we considered Stephanie and Drew our friends and we were talking about when we could return for a real vacation.

Ashley was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful but not pushy. I can’t wait to get my chair and ottoman which will be delivered Friday. I stopped to look at another chair I had a picture of. Ashley showed it to me and it was beautiful, however
