We recently stayed at White sands with my young 2 kids and husband over labor day. Pros: great location right on the beach with private beach access, 2 pools outdoor and indoor, on site cafe with great views of beach, parking no issues. Walking distance to boardwalk, very convenient for family with kids! Service was good at cafe and bar (across the street) there are 2 locations. Outside areas are very well maintained and clean. Cons: Beds are horrible, not comfortable at all and plastic furniture in hallway no private patio. For prices during long weekend and resort fees, I was hoping bedding and room would be more up to date. Cleaning staff never vacuumed our room with the sand but did equip with supplies. walls are thin neighbors complained of my children running below and outside continued to smell like trash. Wifi did not work. location is supposedly the best on point pleasant beach which is true but definitely mattresses, rooms need updates.

I Just wanted to share that we had an incredible 5-day getaway at the White Sand Hotel in July. From the moment we checked in at the front desk to every request we had, the service was exceptional. The restaurant was top-notch, the views were stunning, and the room service was outstanding. We absolutely loved the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so wonderful. We had such a great time and created fantastic memories. We're already planning our next visit every 3 months for a mini vacation. Can't wait!

This would be a 5 star review except we had to get housekeeping items that they didn't leave during the tidy up a few times and one of the wait staff at the Cafe near the beach was not particularly friendly. The first day we went, the waitress was amazing, very helpful, and super nice. The next day's waitress seemed like we were bothering her if we had requests or questions. Overall, everyone else we dealt with were friendly, and when we needed housekeeping items, they got them to us quickly. It was nice having 2 bathroom sinks. The outdoor pools were well cared for, and the beach access was very convenient. Since we stayed on the beach side, we didn't use the indoor pool or hot tub as it seemed odd to walk back and forth up the street. As a place for our family, it checked all of our vacation needs, and we are thinking of going again next year.

Just returned from a two night stay at White Sands and I was pleasantly surprised. Far better than your average New Jersey beach motel. The room was very clean, spacious bathroom and the entire staff was great. Had a problem with the TV in the room and a very nice gentleman was there within 10 minutes and got it working. La Vela Cafe on premises is excellent. Can't wait to return, White Sands will be my only place to stay when visiting Point Pleasant.

Just returned from a week long stay at The White Sands. We’ve been coming annually since 2009, before we were married and now with our family. My parents joined us this year, and there was a mix up with the room that I booked. We were in need of 2 bathrooms (there are rooms with 2 bathrooms as we stayed in one last year (room 248) despite the woman arguing with me that I was wrong) . The staff was able to accommodate us booking another room for us to split up. There was a new young man at the desk, who seemed a bit nervous but he did a great job handling all my questions. The rooms were much cleaner than in years past. They obviously had the carpets cleaned as in past years our feet/socks would be black. I appreciate they added in some basic toiletries to the shower/sink area & the ample amount of towels provided. The beds were a bit hard for me, but no one else in our party complained of it. There are many pillows as well. My only complaint is that the room was sometimes (not always) damp feeling/musty smelling - but I chalked that up to the environment. The public areas were well kept, and the housekeeping staff was kind. The Seabase lounge is advertised to be open until 11, and doesn’t mention anything about kitchen hours. The kitchen apparently closes at 8pm. The food is mediocre, you can get better food as takeout - especially for the cost. Our bill was $140.00 and the waitress said she could not provide an itemized bill only the total. It seemed high, but I didn’t argue about it- just beware. The bartender isn’t that friendly, nor is he attentive to the guests. La Vela- a real gem! We always come Here when we visited and the new staff this time around was wonderful. I wish I got his name but the same Guy was there day in and day out- and was always smiling. The food was wonderful, and so was the service. You can tell these owners are trying so hard to be a memorable experience, have a little patience with them. Location-you can’t beat it. It’s a quick walk to the boardwalk, private beach, 2 outdoor pools, indoor pool and hot tub. They offer towels, beach chairs, and pool toys for kiddos to use in the outdoor pools. Overall, The White Sands holds a special place in our hearts and is a place we will visit for years to come.

The check-in process was easy. The hotel appears older but nicely maintained. We really liked that our bathroom had a tub for our small children and the shower had a handheld wand which made it really easy to bathe them. The room with the toilet and tub did not really have a lot of ventilation and was much warmer than the rest of the room (but how much time do you really spend in the bathroom anyway??). The mattresses were ridiculously hard (to our liking). Other than that the hotel was really right in the middle of everything we wanted to be close to (the boardwalk, restaurants). For those booking, just as an FYI the kiddie pool is on beachfront versus non-beachfront, and the middle pool on beachfront has a lot of kiddie toys. If you have little kids and don't want to walk across the road, book beachfront.

First time staying here and planning to visit again in the future. This hotel was nice and clean. The room was adequate for what we needed. There are several pools that were a big hit. Especially the baby pool! It was nice to be able to take my one year old in and not be splashed by older kids. It has its own private beach that is very close. We loved not having to pay for a beach badge and the short walk from our room. The beach could have been raked to clear some of the debris. We did not get to try the ice cream place because it was only open on weekends, so that was a bummer. The cafe near the pools was expensive and the food was okay. The restaurant inside the hotel was good but also pricey and limited choices. It is also very close to the boardwalk, which is nice when you are dragging little ones with up.

Wish I could give no stars. Awful place. Came with our newborn, child, and extended family. Expected a nice weekend celebrating birthdays and reconnecting with relatives. White Sands was so unaccommodating to our needs as a young family. Didn’t allow us to bring in our own food and eat at the open tables in the common area. No one else was trying to sit. Service was poor. Clapped at us and yelled at us like dogs. Absolutely ridiculous. Will never come back and don’t recommend to anyone.
