The Whisper House - Cocktail bar in Claremont - 502 W 1st St, USA

This is the alternative, secret hang out as opposed to the other go to restaurants in the Claremont Village. Its atmosphere is cool, dark, and seedy. So, it’s actually a wonderful hole in the wall. I came in for their signature cocktails and it was a smash. The food was good but I did not think it was original enough. Overall, it was a unique experience and I will come by again.

Food was really good! I was able to read my book at the bar undisturbed. The bartenders were very sweet and attentive despite the business for a Sunday night. For 2 drinks and a meal, not too expensive either. I’ll definitely be back.

Everything we've tried here is great, but we constantly come back for their happy hour nachos (until 6pm). It's a sizable portion that can be shared by two at a great price. It's packed with toppings and has an amazing cheese sauce that gets on every chip. It's to die for (not literally).

Excellent drinks, atmosphere inside is nice. Loss of star because the train goes blaring by bells ringing while you're trying to eat. Other than that, the restrooms were clean and the service was great. Went during the week for a holiday company dinner. I'd say plan to spend $100 for a date night.

Avocado toast was super duper yummy. So was French toast and skirt steak salad. Cute place bit small. Outside dining area seemed bigger then inside. Nice bar. Interesting drinks.. The only reason this isn't a 5....Service wasn't as good as I would have liked. Waited a good 15 minutes before we could order and the waiter finally came over but only to see if we needed anything..(like yeah, to order, duh)....plus orders wasn't correct despite several requests to repeat.

Wow! The Ahi Tuna tacos were so light and crispy. I forget the actual name of the “tortilla” but what a great idea. I love that it was so thin, which allowed you to taste all the ingredients inside, but still held all the ingredients together without breaking apart. Both the mezcal margarita and Run with the Devil were so delicious. I love the combination of smokiness, bitterness and sweetness. And the rims are salty. Anahi was super wonderful. She was sweet and was very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. Loved that she seemed so authentic and was very down to earth. There wasn’t too much of a wait. We sat outside so it was nice and bright. Totally see it as a brunch spot, but easily a restaurant that you can visit at any time of the day. (posted on Yelp, @angelepatino)

Really enjoyed this place! Located inside the Claremont Packing House & had a great selection of cocktails and entrees. Service was quick and helpful, the waiter recommended a couple of good cocktails that paired well with each entree. Its a dimly lit restaurant with an intimate vibe, highly recommend for any special occasions or just a date night!

Fabulous looking drinks, taste as amazing as they look! Love the floral garnish and the vibrant colors. Appetizer was decent. Wonderful Service though.
