The Westin San Francisco Airport - Hotel in Millbrae - 1 Old Bayshore Hwy, USA

This location is close to the airport and has easy access to all of the major highways and bridges. Our room was renovated. It was very clean. Beds were super comfy, but pillows were terrible. Front desk staff was pleasant. Parking was pricey but standard for the area. Buffet breakfast was very expensive…we found ordering a la carte more affordable. Reviews complain about noise from airplanes….it’s an airport hotel!!! Planes were not noticeable after about 10pm. Would stay again.

Communicating with the front desk pre arrival on the Marriott app is very efficient. Smoothly honored all my platinum elite benefits and received complimentary upgrade to executive suite. Clean and spacious room. Good food at restaurant. Had some issue with my bonus points included in the rate booked but contacting Marriott customer service efficiently resolved the issues. Very convenient free airport shuttle. Will come back.

Positive: The desk staff upgraded my non-smoking room to the top floor when the first room two floors below was found to smell like cigarettes. I appreciated the $10 option for a bay view room. Negative: I did not like paying $40 for a parking pass. Parking should come with the room purchase.

This Westin location is tired and needs an update. Rooms have that level of dirt that needs a full deep clean or reno (dust under glass desktop, yellowing switches with embedded dirt, aging caulking in bathroom (see photos)). It's not at the typical Westin level. Staff seemed friendly, though. Convenient to SFO though I didn't use the shuttle - had a car service to the airport. The thing I found most lacking - there's no room service - just the one restaurant and a Starbucks. When traveling for work I want to get into my room, eat, then get to sleep - I don't want to have to get settled only to have to go down to pick up a meal and then eat with plastic utensils out of a box - not really a Westin experience. That's a bit lame.

This is not a 4 stars hotel. It’s 3 at best. We got a room with a dirty floor full of crumbs. The windows were dirty, full of calc, you could see clearly through them. It felt like a cheap motel. They got us a different room instead, which was better. But still the is a very basic hotel. Not a 4-star one.

I checked in around 11 pm on 5/21 and was greeted with “Thank you for being an Ambassador, we have upgraded you to The Presidential Suite.” Room 709 indeed had sign on the outside stating it was the Presidential Suite. It was a rundown and dated room. I latched the door and went to sleep because I was tired. I was awoken at 4 am by a man standing over my bed yelling “what are you doing in my room?” I had not seen the second entrance to the room, and so I had not doubled locked it. He said he was given the Presidential Suite early the previous day. I wax a little in shock and had to catch my breath. I told him to leave, and he did. I just sat there for a while stunned by what had happened.||I got dressed and did not shower. I checked out early at 4:30 am and went to the airport. I told the front desk clerk who said there was nothing he could do. He took down my contact info and said I would be contacted by a manager when he got in.||i have not been contacted by anyone from the hotel. i am an Ambassador member and. This my worst experience ever in Marriott. I keep thinking about what if this had been my wife or some other woman staying alone in the room? I will more thoroughly check out an entire suite next time. I don’t know how this happens. I thought a key is re-set each stay. Why did I not get an apology or any action from Marriott. ||All I can do is encourage you or anyone I know not to stay at this poorly operated hotel.

Very disappointed in the service we received. We booked a one night stay because the airline changed our flight to a very early time, but after we were able to book a different flight this hotel refused to refund our stay or allow a credit for a future stay. This was all done 2 weeks in advance. So don’t book unless you are good with it being non refunded.

If I am staying near SFO, this is the place I make my 1st Choice for a hotel. I have stayed here no less than 30 times. I would be remiss, if I did not recognize Nicole Fontana at the front desk. She always remembers me and I appreciate the discussion in German (her German is certainly better than mine). I am treated so well, I like the location near SFO, and a view of the airport as well.
