The Westin Fort Lauderdale - Featured Reviews (2463)
During my recent stay at The Westin Fort Lauderdale for a conference, I was impressed by Jeanette, one of the housekeepers. Her exceptional attention to detail ensured my room was spotless and perfectly organized throughout my stay. On my last day, as I was checking out, I heard her humming in the hallway. It was a calming and pleasant sound that caught my attention. Jeanette paused her work to engage in a warm and friendly conversation with me, showcasing her genuine hospitality and professionalism. Her dedication to excellent service truly stood out. The Westin Fort Lauderdale is fortunate to have such a dedicated and personable team member. I was highly impressed with the overall quality of the service provided.
My family enjoyed hanging out at the pool with the baby iguanas a little scary. we looked forward to dining in the lounge every day , with great food and drinks. Eric and Susan were super the best except for Nelly, who needs training in customer service such a bad attitude. Jaylen at the Front desk was fantastic he should be promoted he is very guest centric and does a great job with anticipating the guest needs.
The hotel itself is in a great location for what we needed it for. The property is very nice. The hallways are a little musky. Rooms are a bit dated. Bar is nice and the bartender was very attentive. The only issue was our AC wasnt working. I called down at 10pm to see if there was something they could do about our AC running hot, they sent the nicest gentleman named Waldo to fix it. Instead of just looking at the thermostat and saying there wasn't anything he could do, he took the whole thing apart and figured out the waterline had been shut off. He fixed it! Now we can get some rest. Thanks Waldo for saving the night!
The hotel was ok, bed has a hole in the mattress so big as if someone who fits only with himself in an elevator has slept on it, shower does not work properly either.||But those problems are nothing compared to the service you get from the staff especially what Monika and Suzanne do! Really a heart of gold and nice people to have a drink with at the bar in the evening.||So overal meeting still good!
I was greeted at the check-in desk with a glass of champagne to sip on and given a welcome gift bag. The staff was very kind and welcoming. I was also given a complimentary upgrade to a corner suite given my Titanium Elite status. There wasn't a store inside the lobby like a lot of hotels. But it did have this CVS kiosk (1st time I've ever seen one in a hotel) that had pretty much all the things you could need in a store.
There is a bar and restaurant on the lobby ground floor as well as a separate area for the breakfast buffet. Which was also complimentary due to my status and it had a wide variety of options. They also would allow you to take it back to your room if you didn't want to sit in the dining area. There's also outdoor seating as well.
The corner suite had 180⁰ views and was very spacious. The shower had my favorite rain shower head, and the water pressure was great. There was a couch to be able to relax on so you didn't have to sit on the bed. As well as a smaller table and chair facing out one of the windows. I used this as my breakfast area 😋
The bed was super comfy, and the pillows were just the right softness and firmness for a great night sleep. It almost tries to hold you hostage once you get inside, lol.
It's a nice little stroll from the main hotel to the pool & gym area.
Once you get by the pool, you have a lot of sitting options. The pool is a nice size with a pretty cool water fall feature inside of it. You usually only see those mostly at big resorts, so it was a nice addition.
The gym isn't big but has all the things you need to get in a great workout. Cardio equipment, dumbbells up to 50lbs, and a cable machine. What was a pretty cool feature you don't see often in gyms was their recovery station, which housed a massage gun. That's not typical for most hotel gyms.
This gym also had a sauna inside the men's locker room, so I would also assume there is one inside of the women's locker room as well. But they have an additional one that can be accessed without going inside of the locker room, which is also not your average hotel gyms fixture. So if you are like me and you enjoy working out while you are away from home and you like saunas. This hotel is for you.
8/2/2024 We were graciously welcomed by Nicole. Very friendly and helped us with a great room. We were there for a birthday & were given a card for a complimentary breakfast for 2 for the next morning.
The room was spacious & clean. Nice bathroom with walk-in shower.
One drawback--no ice machine on 6th floor, had to go to 4th floor for ice.
Parking was ample.
Check out was very easy.
We greatly enjoyed our stay.
This is a five star quality hotel! The property is super clean and very elegant! The service is very kind and professional. Everything about this hotel is first class and exceptional quality! The rooms are modern and super clean and elegant! The restaurant provides delicious items and super efficient service. I have never enjoyed a night more than at this hotel. Excellent choice! Go see them for yourselves and you will know how awesome this hotel is!
Picked this location due to no parking fees, and it was in the Ft. Lauderdale area, close to freeways, etc.
I thought the room was slightly dated, but not that out of touch (see pics), with a nice view and great A/C. Bed was comfortable, and bathroom had decent amount of space. There's a decent amount of plugs in useful places for powering tech and it was also quiet to sleep in.
The only drawback to the room was the ant infestation I had to deal with while I was there (more on that later). There's a decent amount of plugs in useful places for powering tech
Hotel seemed to have a decent amount of people coming and going, with a large pool and a nice bar/restaurant area.
Front desk service at check-in was great, esp. if you're a loyal Marriott member. Check-out service left something to be desired - when I informed the young lady about the ant problem in the room, she bluntly asked me "What do you want?", assuming I wanted something in exchange for the ant problem. I wasn't fishing for bonus points or money off the bill...I'd just rather not stay in a room w/ ants in it where I'm putting things down on a counter, and so that the next person who stays in the room doesn't have them either.
I'd say this is a decent property to stay at if you're going to be in the area and don't want to contend with beachfront hotel crowds and prices - you can get to where you want to go fairly easily.
