Really enjoyed our stay at the Wayside. It’s like taking a step back in time to see the antique furniture and newspaper clippings. I stayed in the Annex with my Golden Retriever and he especially enjoyed the porch overlooking the river during a rain storm. They are very much pet-friendly, which is exactly what I was looking for. Staff was gracious and helpful, and breakfast was great. We’ll be back !
My husband and I had a one night getaway at the Wayside Inn, and we loved it! Upon arrival, we decided we preferred to move from the annex to the main Inn, and the Mother of the innkeeper Sarah cheerfully made the switch for us! Our room was spacious, quaint, and I loved the decorations and hardwood floors! We even had a jacuzzi tub in the spacious bathroom! The room was spotless, so clean and inviting! I loved hearing the river out our windows and the birds in the morning! A delicious breakfast was included, and I appreciated the early start at 7:30 so we could get out on our bicycles. |The innkeeper Sarah has obviously done so much work to this historic property. I am sure it has not been easy, especially with a young family. Sarah is amazing! I look forward to staying again to see further improvements she has made! |Thank you for the wonderful overnight!
Wayside is a quaint family owned inn much like Bob Newhart's (tv show reference.) Lovely place to lay your head, relax after long day of checking out the mountains. River was a peaceful lullaby guiding us to sleep. Included breakfast, was delicious and filling. An evening drink at the bar helps wrap up the evening with friendly conversation with locals and other travelers. This is an inn with charm, a friendly staff, and character.
The facilities and room could use an update but the hospitality, setting & cleanliness make up for this. |We arrived late but were warmly greeted by the innkeeper Sarah. Our room was likely decorated in the 80’s but was immaculate. The room had a deck that was on top of a very picturesque river. Our stay included a delicious full hot breakfast in an immaculate dining room with large picture windows overlooking the river.
The Wayside Inn is a charming historic hotel. We stayed in the actual hotel, not the annex. Our room was comfortable and clean. I was traveling with my senior mother, and while she managed the space well, it's worth mentioning that the stairs to the historic rooms are taller than average and the floors in the historic rooms are uneven. For those with mobility issues, simply be aware. Otherwise, we enjoyed our room and stay. Every staff person we encountered was lovely. Breakfast was also excellent.
Our room was spacious and clean. Nice bathroom. Ate dinner there had one of the best burger ever out! Listen it looks like an older Inn but the owner does a great job, and the food for dinner and breakfast (which is included) was fantastic! Highly recommend!
My brother stayed overnight for a trip to the Cog Railway the next day. The inn was easy to find and the local area was beautiful. We were offered our choice of a room in the main house or in the annex near the river. We chose the latter for the balcony facing the river - the breeze felt great and the sound of the water was relaxing. Everything was clean and in working order and the beds were comfortable. In the morning, they had our breakfast ready for us as soon as the restaurant opened so that we could head out early to the Cog Railway. All in all, a very good stay - would highly recommend!
The Wayside Inn is set in a very picturesque location, right next to a beautiful brook. You can enjoy the beautiful view from the balcony of your room. The rooms themselves are ok. They beds are a little too firm for my liking, but I had a good night's sleep. The restaurant exceeded my expectations. We were a large group, and they rose up to the occasion nicely. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
