The Wave Hotel - Hotel in Manhattan Beach - 900 N Sepulveda Blvd, USA

We had one night stay here before a late flight so were only really looking for a clean bed and a shower. At check in, we were a couple of hours early so we were allowed to leave our baggage behind the desk which was appreciated (rather than pay $20 for an early check in). The gentleman behind the counter was attentive but not very helpful with some of our questions. We went out for a few hours and when we returned there was a different person behind the counter, Jake. Jake was very good, able to help us with questions and help plan a tour from the hotel for the next day. He willingly came to our room to help with the television. But don't rely too much on the tele for entertainment. Thank you Jake. At checkout, a different person again was attentive and polite. There was a security deposit on our credit card which took over a week to clear. Our room was more than okay, very clean with good toiletries, apart from an overpowering smell of bleach that was very hard on the eyes and nose. I think they need to dilute the cleaning fluid down a bit. There was also an ice machine outside the room that was quite noisy however, Jake did turn it off later that evening. We did not use the pool (too cold) but it was clean and inviting. The included self serve breakfast was nice and really appreciated. Overall, we were happy with our stay for a mid range hotel.

Good rates, but had several downfalls...|When we arrived on a Wednesday the only ice machine was out of order. We were told it would be fixed the next day, but when we left Saturday it still wasn't. Had to go to the hotel next door every time we needed ice! The beds are on a metal base & felt like springs on the mattress that kept making noise when you moved. The remote |sucked, not easy to use. Pool was roped off with yellow caution tape when we arrived. The next day it was taken down, but pool looked dirty.|Had little bugs (gnats?) flying around in the room that kept landing in my drink! Curtains were worn and didn't close right. No view except for the side street. If you want room service, have to request it that morning. Room was spacious with 2 queens, a small fridge, but no microwave-There is a community one located outside. Room appeared to be recently renovated with nice pictures of the beach on the headboards and different colored lights that flash when you turn on the switch by the bed. Breakfast was basic, make your own waffle was the only hot food. Has free underground parking with an elevator. Right off the busy PCH, El Pollo Loco is on the next block and a Starbucks & wine shop across the street. If you're not picky, it was okay for the price.

Run away quickly from this hotel. Picked this hotel because it was close to the beach. However, I didn’t read the reviews. When we arrived after our long flight, we were checked into a room on the 2nd floor in the corner. An hour later we noticed ants 🐜 all over the bathroom and sink. We moved to another room and there were still ants 🐜 in the room. The Wave is the worse hotel ever and a disgrace to Manhattan Beach. Anyone can walk in off the street and use the restroom. No security , they lied and said the hotel was booked. This hotel should be condemned. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY You will be sorry.. Run now

Quelle déception lors de notre arrivée en voyant la piscine fermée et l’eau toute verte ! Problème technique (apparemment pas d’hier) Je demande un geste commercial et la réponse est directement négative. J’ai réservé spécialement pour la piscine notre dernier jour de vacances aux US ! Merci la prochaine fois de réserver ailleurs pour moins cher. De plus, chambre avec un ménage très approximatif ( sol sal, des touffes de cheveux, sable ..) manque une serviette et frigo fait un bruit de tracteur Petit déjeuner très décevant : comme la piscine machine à gaufre en panne il faudra se contenter de pâtisserie industrielle de céréale et d’un café sans saveur ! Seul point positif le parking gratuit mais vu le prix de la chambre cela semble normal !!

The good things, rooms are large and clean. The shower was in good shape. Thete are fridges and microwaves in the room. Pool looked clean. Things not so great bed is uncomfy and has springs, handle fell off interior door. Adequate for the price.

DON’T GO HERE, REVIEWS ARE REAL! This Hotel was horrible! We found gunk built up in the shower, the room smelled terrible and we paid for a king bed for the 3 of us to sleep in and they tried to run us for a queen size. After arguing with the front desk attendant about the size of the bed, unsafeness of the room and the gunk and dirty shower they finally moved us to the right room. We were even told that the hotel was packed for the weekend and that they had nothing but king size beds in their hotel. Both of these turned out to be a lie.

Awful Hotel, very loud, a Lot of Ants in the room, bathroom old and dirty, the shower was half broken, the Service was very Bad. Although we have a Lot of Tip and pleased to have room Service for cleaning, they Just changed the towels, but never cleaned the room. With 3 people we Always got 2 towels. The breakfast was awful. 7-9, we came at 8 and there was nearly No food, Coffee empty, No refill. Worstest Hotel

We won’t ever return. PROs: Discount for cash (about $150/night), Spacious Clean Room, Quiet, TV works, Hair Dryer, Iron & Board, Pleasant Staff, Black-out Curtains, Complimentary Soaps & Lotions, Coffee Maker, Clean Towels & Sheets, Mini-Refrigerator, Continental Breakfast includes juice, cereal, milk, muffins, toast, coffee. Hotel is 1.1 mile & walking distance from the Manhattan Beach Pier. CONs: A good bed is very important. Here, if you like sleeping on the floor, this king bed is for you. The regular mattress fits on top of a hard metal slab, so it is seriously rock hard (we almost left the 1st night). Pool & Spa don’t work (& pool is roped off with crime scene caution tape), Ice Machine doesn’t work, Waffle Maker doesn’t work, Coke Machine empty, Ants in the room. Air Conditioner is comfortable but very noisy. We felt mgmt didn’t care about amenities or client comfort. Mgmt lied by saying pool would be fixed in 2 days. For ‘no ice,’ we were told to “go across the street” (presumably to Starbucks). Please.
