.Been coming hear every year of my life and it never fails to bring me joy. We keep 4 boats there and this place offers room to all of them. The lake is the cleanest I've been to. The beach is relaxing but the big lake gets a bit cold. The fishing I partook in at the lake was the best i have experienced.

Do not stay here place is a mess and frank Hollister the owner is a criminal i paid for a room, place was disgusting and frank refused to give me back my money and left in his car. Writing this review because i dont want other people to go through what i did.

Such a wonderful place to spend a week in the summer! Mr. Hollister runs a clean and friendly place. We always get a room with the kitchen attached and we have a great time! I believe we have stayed there ten out of the last eleven years. There is always something to do on the property. A lake out front with various boats to choose from, a channel to view the boats coming and going, and just a quick walk to beautiful Lake Michigan. There is a dock for people who bring their own boats as well. Fishing is always popular. My favorite pastime is sitting around the fire at night stargazing in the crystal clear sky. Be sure to visit Duck Lake State Park just a mile or so down the road which has a huge beach on Lake Michigan which is never crowded. It is a must to eat at Pekadill's in Whitehall! Delicious sandwiches, dare I say, "gourmet"! I recommend the French Dip! Big John's Pizza is also delicious! There is the White River Lighthouse within walking distance and others to drive to. Visit the Happy Mohawk Canoe Livery to take a casual float (canoes, kayaks, or tubes) down the peaceful White River! Or visit Cherry Point Farm & Market for some fabulous fudge, fresh baked goods, or souvenirs! Country Dairy Farm is a wonderful place to visit as well; be sure to try the cheese curds! If horseback riding is your thing, Double JJ Resort is a lovely place to go; friendly staff, nice horses. Cherry Point, Country Dairy, and Double JJ Resort are a bit of a drive, but the countryside is beautiful as well. Silver Lake Sand Dunes are a bit farther, but a must see (and climb?) at least once. Highway 31 can make it quicker, but the view is not as good. I very highly recommend a stay at Hollister's Water's Edge! It is truly a peaceful and relaxing get-a-way!

I love this place. The kitchens make it great for people who are staying more than a night or two. Lots of ways to accommodate groups. The fact that a few small boats are available with the rental and that it's so close to both lakes pushes this place into the lead compared with the other places I've stayed in the area.

My room had a view of both the lake and the channel to Lake Michigan, very pretty and calming. In the morning I looked out on a mulberry tree with birds like orioles, catbirds, woodpeckers eating the berries so close I needed no binoculars. Also enjoyed walking the pier out to Lake Michigan. Very nice.

We rented a cottage. Clean and stocked, including soap. Not much of a view due to the vegetation but we loved the area and easy access to the water and beaches. The owner, Frank, is the easiest person in the world to get along with.

Unbeatable access to White Lake and Lake Michigan. Wonderful place for children and adults to swim, fish, canoe, kayak and sail. The returning guests make it feel like a family reunion every year. Rustic, old home look and feel.

Been vacationing at Hollisters for 8 years now. So glad I inquired back then. Watch the sunrise over White Lake from your front porch and take a two minute walk to the see the sunset over Lake Michigan from the White Lake channel or go all out and take four minutes to get to the Lake Michigan beach. The White River Light Station museum is three minutes. A beautiful victorian lighthouse/keepers home. With many activities provided and boatslips available on White Lake for your own craft, there's plenty of bells and whistles. Frank is the nicest guy you could meet and he's always on the go with improvements to the lodgings and the White Lake waterfront. I only hope I can get my spot reserved every year.
