The Waterfront Inn - Hotel in The Villages - 1105 Lake Shore Dr, USA

I have stayed here before but actually like Brownwood Hotel more. Found what I thought to be a deal at The Waterfront Inn for a last-minute Labor Day weekend trip. Was surprised to get a room with such short notice and the price was not terrible. Wanted the pool, hot tub and onsite restaurant. Nothing on their website informed the guests that the hotel and grounds are under a full renovation. The pool and hot tub were closed and empty - hideous to look at from our waterfront room. We immediately returned to the front desk to check out and were advised that our stay would not be refunded. What! I even spoke with a skinny very weird-looking man who said that he was the only Manager on property and he was the restaurant Manager. He made a phone call and returned stating that nothing could be done. Other people were not happy at the deception or the hotel itself. |Staff members seem to not care one bit about customer service or making enemies. My family visits The Villages a lot but will never stay at this hotel again, even after the renovation is complete. They have shown how they don't value their guests and I would not enjoy a future stay after this experience.

Stayed nearly a week at the end of July. The hotel is under construction right now so things are a little wonky but don't let that deter you. The staff was very helpful and prompt in responding to every request and need. Excellent value for the money in my opinion. You can walk to the town square with lots of fantastic food and entertainment options and - if you get a lake side room - you can't beat the view. Treat yourself to a suite if you can. Fantastic view from the balcony!

This hotel is currently being renovated, all amenities are not available. From the look of the poor craftsmanship of the painter it’s clear they made they accepted the lowest bid.. toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall. Dog poop in the hall way, no pool or spa. A waste of money and a horrible experience.

Main floor and lobby are under construction right now. Hopefully it will be nice. Not pleasant to deal with right now. This is a no service hotel. Get your own bags and find your own food for 250 a night. This Hotel is tired. Interior is worn. In need of renovation. Staff is mixed. Some are great some are not. More training needed. Location is this hotel’s strength. Great shower!! 2 heads!! Lots of potential but for now it’s a pass.

Positive: The location was always great but with the renovated rooms it?s extra nice. Will be fabulous when the lobby is done although construction didn?t bother us. The new room was just gorgeous and the staff were so nice. Negative: I love free hotel breakfast so heads up, this hotel has never offered that.

The entire building must be condemned!!!! Floors are all warped, wallpaper from the 1980’s,, FILTH everywhere! Entire place is disgusting. If you are autoimmune compromised you will become ill! A little rehab for the lobby won’t even make a dent in the horrible condition of the entire inside! Deplorable! A Hotel 6 would be a luxury hotel in comparison! Run!!!!!!! 🏃🏼‍♂️

First time visit to Waterfront & The Villages. Hotel is extremely convenient to Villages. We enjoyed the hotel, clean, friendly staff, wonderful views from our balcony room overlooking the lake with view of village town square area.||||We did not use pool or eat in the restaurant while there. There are many places to eat nearby and we had friends who live in The Villages showing us around the area.||||Room was very clean & quiet, comfy beds, FABULOUS double showerhead, in room A/C is a bit noisy as typical if not central air. Internet was fine. ||||Plenty of parking, nice pathway by lake to take a stroll. ||||We will certainly look st stay again next time we visit The Villages!!

This was a very unpleasant hotel stay. Let me start by saying the main reason I chose this hotel was because online it states they are “dog friendly.” They are anything but friendly. I noticed a charge on my card today for an additional $75. Nobody said anything to me about it. When I went to the front desk today, the woman who was working (on 8/19 around 10:30am) was extremely unprofessional. I mentioned that there was an unknown charge on my card and she states, “Well it’s because you tried to sneak a dog into your room.” ??? As if I would try to sneak a 95 pound dog anywhere? I told her I purposely booked this hotel because I was bringing a dog, and nobody asked me at check-in if that was the case. She could use some lessons in professionalism and how to speak to customers. So instead of someone SIMPLY just asking “are you bringing a dog” or “do you have a dog,” I was spoken down to and wrongfully accused. AND woke up to find a new unapproved charge on my credit card, without any notice. When I booked this hotel there was NOWHERE that stated I would be charged a fee almost equivalent to the price of the room for bringing an animal. If so, it would have been much cheaper to bring him to our usual dog hotel. I have many friends and family members in The Villages area who visit frequently, and I will certainly not be recommending this hotel to them for their stays. Unless you want to be spoken down to, accused, and have unapproved charges on your credit card, don’t stay here. I don’t think the classy, kind clientele in this area would allow someone to speak to and treat them the way we were treated. I’m actually angrier about the rude accusations more than I am about the money. Given this hotel allows this sort of treatment, I doubt they will do anything to resolve this issue anyway. ***EDIT*** I also forgot to mention my dog is an ESA, I have a letter signed by my doctor that I carry with me stating I am able to take him anywhere with me, regardless of weight limit. But nobody seemed to care about that either. I was just blown off entirely.
