We have stayed at 10 different inns in 10 days and The Waterford was the highlight of the entire trip. Stunning location, beautiful rooms, incredible food, a curated wine list - I mean, this was elevated in a way that’s hard to describe. Above all that though, we just loved this lovely little family coming together to make something so beautiful. The picture attached is of a purple potato soup and cheese plate the daughters just whipped up when we were too tired to go out, and let me tell you this meal was the best we had on this vacation (where we’ve eaten at numerous 4 star restaurants). This family so clearly loves what they’re doing and truly have a magic touch for design, hospitality, and food and beverage. This was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve had in my life. 10/10
What a lovely place nestled in a gorgeous wooded area. It rained the whole time we were there so we didn't get an opportunity to hike around much. We were here with 4 other families for an off site wedding. The owners were very nice and welcoming. We arrived later than typical check in, but had a plate of cookies waiting for us along with a menu choice for our breakfast. Food was lovely, sourced locally if it wasn't something they didn't have available on their homestead. A do it yourself coffee and tea bar is available in the corner of one of the living rooms, as well as water for your room. Our room, the Farmer was quaint, the bathroom was teenie, but serviceable, bed was comfortable and they have a temp control in your room. Two good sized living areas and a large dining room, that accommodated our party of 11. Attached to the farmhouse is a barn that is being converted to a very cool bar. Great cocktail list, good selection of Maine beers and all the necessary hard liquors. They also have two covered porches with a porch swing, table and chairs. Dog friendly, they have chickens and a large veg garden. This is everything you would want for a bed&breakfast, and more. I highly recommend a visit, and look forward to going back.
The Waterford Inne is a truly special place. I recently took my mother there as a belated Christmas present and we both had an amazing time. While the barn, inn and surrounding grounds are all beautiful and great places to enjoy exceptional food and drink, the welcoming spirit and attentive service of Kember, Greta and Elli is what makes this place extra special. After a great cocktail by the outdoor fire pit on a perfect fall day, we enjoyed a fantastic lobster boil accompanied by live music in the magical setting of the barn. The rooms were beautiful and my mother and I both slept very well in the extremely comfortable beds. We ended our visit with homemade breakfast and enjoyable conversation over coffee with other guests and Kember. This is a gem of a place - go visit!
We stayed at the dreamy Waterford Inne a few weeks ago and we're still basking in the glow of that warm, cozy, and delicious escape from reality. Kember, Greta and Elli (and doggy host with the most, Milo!) were incredible hosts who generously shared the very special property that they've beautifully renovated and decorated. Barn dinners were done for the season, but the B&B food we were treated to was destination worthy in itself - from the warm sourdough chocolate chip cookies, to the perfectly curated cheeseboard, to the absolutely mind blowing breakfasts made with eggs from their chickens and veggies from their garden, we can't wait to go back for more!!! On top of it all, we so enjoyed the company of all our hosts and the other guests. It was a really lovely space of connection and conversation that feels rare in today's world. ||(Also super convenient to countless hikes and lots of good food. Highly recommend dinner at Oxbow in Oxford!)
Having our original Saturday plans cancelled due to rain, we shifted gears and decided to stay and explore the region.|It was a great decision as our stay at the Waterford Inne was wonderful.|The Vanderblue family has put together a gem of the accommodation world in the region. The Inne was beautiful and very relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and the selections changed daily. The Barn felt like a neighborhood gathering spot with fresh soups and bread to go with your cocktails or wine. |Highly recommend this B&B and we will be returning.
This historic inn has recently been renovated with fresh paint, wallpaper, furniture, linens... Also, the relatively new owners have created a farm to table experience so enjoy fresh eggs from their chickens and fresh veggies from the garden. Don't miss the evenings in their bar located in the barn. You'll be rewarded with the most interesting cocktails and cuisine. Book a room today and thank me later.
I loved everything about this charming, family run inn. The Waterford Inne is infused with warmth, thoughtfulness, beauty, and attention to detail. There are so many unique touches from the homemade cocktails, fresh flowers in vases in the barn, homemade cookies in the room, to a friendly welcome by the owners upon arrival. The rooms are lovely, clean, and comfortable, however the best part of the Waterford Inne is the positive energy and sense of community that you feel while chatting with owners and guests in their gorgeous barn, or at the communal breakfast table over a delicious breakfast the next morning. Their property is beautiful, and it's evident at every turn that a lot of care and passion went into the creation of the Waterford Inne. You can purchase eggs from their free range hens or locally made products before you go. I stayed at several local hotels and inns while dropping my sons off at their Summer camps and picking them up again- there were some lovely places, but really no comparison- this is the one I look forward to returning to.
Quite simply the best Inne that we have ever stayed at. Our room was "The Architect." A gorgeously decorated, immaculately clean accommodation, with a beautiful view of the grounds, and fresh baked cookies waiting for us when we arrived. The staff was highly attentive to all of our needs, as we were traveling with a 3 month old! It's obvious that care and attention are placed on every aspect of this little slice of heaven. Do yourself a favor and book your stay right away! Don't forget to order breakfast. Their fresh egg frittata is farm to table and absolutely to die for.
