The Wallhouse Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection - Hotel in Walnut Creek - 2870 Cove Ln, USA

Positive: Super clean, modern updated feel, everyone was very attentive and friendly. The hotel appears well run by an attentive team. Big rooms too! Across the street from downtown Walnut Creek which is perfect. Negative: Firm check in / check out times. We could've used an early check in and their book references a $50 late checkout fee.

Very clean and I love the rooms. The staff is my biggest complaint. On check in I couldn't even get a smile or a welcome from the front desk lady. Very unfriendly . The best staff member is the breakfast lady who is always working hard and is friendly! On my last day, I was going to check out at noon (the hotel checkout time) and every time I left my room ans came back, the cleaning girl would just stare at me the entire time.|, very uncomfortable, felt rushed to check out so they could get into clean. On checkout no words by the girl | Other then did I need a receipt. Apparently the front desk staff doesnt know words or how to welcome guests. Also found hair on the shower wall, called down to the front desk but no answer so I cleaned it myself. I don't think $130 a night is worth it with the unfriendly staff, it's such a promising hotel too!!! Just disappointed in the staff (except the breakfast lady).

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Service was terrible, attendant at the front desk was horrendously rude and clearly has no idea of how to treat PAYING CUSTOMERS. We paid good money to stay in this hotel for a family trip, and whoever the woman was manning the front desk when we checked in could not have treated my wife worse. She questioned her age and then continued to threaten kicking us out of the hotel. Now, keep in mind, this was not after any noise complaints — We didn’t jump on the front desk or start knocking furniture over or anything like that. This was upon simply attempting to check into the hotel which, again, we paid to stay at. Not only was this rude in general, it was also highly presumptuous and arrogant to assume that a young couple, simply for being young, would cause a ruckus. If you enjoy that type of meaningless personal attack, then this hotel is the place for you. If you are simply attempting to enjoy your time in Holmes County, there are dozens of other, better, hotels to stay at.

Employees were very professional and courteous. Bed was too soft. Room needed to be cleaned better because there was dust in many places, dead bugs in the sliding glass door runners, and a dark sticky substance on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. The recliners were nice and we loved the shower. The coffee was excellent. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection to choose from. The pool and whirlpool were nice, but they needed cleaned. The fitness room was small but adequate.

My husband and me have stayed at Wallhouse before. The staff is very friendly. Mary,Margaret and Kallie are so friendly and such nice people. Kody one of the house keepers was a joy to talk to. We definitely will be staying here again we had a wonderful visit.

We stayed for two nights and it was one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel. I believe in pros and cons so here it goes. Pros: *Friendly, accommodating staff *Clean, very large room with a glass table, chairs and easy chair. *Comfortable bed with lots of pillows *Updated, modern decor *Large walk in shower *Sink in bathroom but also outside of the bathroom *Refrig and microwave *Starbucks Coffee in room with lots of cups *Hot tub and Pool *Lounging chairs and tables outside to enjoy the weather and scenery *Great breakfast with a wide variety of both hot food, and sweets that was constantly being refreshed. Cinnamon rolls were to die for. *Late check out time Cons *Pool’s water was murky *Most hotel rooms I’ve been in have USB plugs. There was a really old clock with a charger for an iPod from 2010, nothing that would work for any modern phone or iPad. But realize I am nitpicking at this point… this is about as minor of a detail as you can get. I had to work hard to think of anything but the pool to complain about. Loved, loved, loved this hotel. However, if you want a truly Amish experience (since the hotel is in the heart of Amish country), you won’t get it here. It is truly a contrast to the Amish “Plain”, but in a good way.

This hotel is fair at best. The room was clean, breakfast was mediocre but the staff is so under-trained it’s unbelievable. Customer service is not that hard. The rude attitude of the cleaning people and the angry, disrespectful behavior of the front desk clerk does not represent the hospitality we expect in the Christian community of Amish country. Is this the way Choice Hotels choose to operate their business? We did not feel welcome from the moment we arrived and will not be returning to this location and will not make Choice hotels our first choice for future trips.

Everything was very nice, Breakfast was amazing. The room had a very good view, But they need to check there rooms for bed bugs,my husband was fine when got to the hotel but in the morning he had bite on his back and arms and we found out they were bed bugs bites. This was always a excellent hotels we been coming to this hotel when they first open up. I will give this hotel another chance in the future maybe for my Anniversary in November only if their rooms are clean.
