The Urban Tap - Gastropub in Pittsburgh - 216 S Highland Ave, USA

Wandered into Urban Tap not knowing anything about it and was very pleasantly surprised! They have 100+ beers on tap (not an exaggeration). The menu and quality of their food is many levels above average bar fare. We had the Caesar Salad with Ahi Tuna and the Honey Orange Salmon with asparagus and a side salad. Both were excellent - kudos to the chef! Our server, Amber, was kind, friendly, and helpful with explaining menu and beer items. The dining area is very clean, and the decor has a modern urban but relaxed vibe. I would definitely go back!

I have gone to quite a few places for pulled pork sandwiches. Today I found the winner right now for the best pulled pork sandwich! You guys killed it. I did see a few other things on your menu id like to try so definitely will be back for more. My friend got Mac and cheese and she said it beats all the other places we've gone to. So what ever you are doing to your dishes, keep it up!!! Id like to add as well your food is affordable and fresh as it can get. I look forward to recommending others your way as it definitely was a blast. The way the building is designed also makes me feel comfortable. There is tons of room, very spacious couldn't hear others conversations which was SO nice!

Needed a place to watch the alcohol, great place to do this. Hit happy hour rates as well. Had a few appetizers and a couple of pints of Guinness and all was well. Jad their dobots for a dessert, ansolute yum on this one. Service was great, they even changed channel to also for us.

Now this is a gastro pub I can get down with. Not only do they have an outrageous selection of drafts they can make a great cocktail. The food was on point. I had the Mac and cheese and it was fire 🔥! Ben was my bartender and he was on point. He can mix a great cocktail 🍸

We had a great dinner! They have a massive selection of beer and cider on tap. The food is great pub food and I only got a pic of dessert! The donut holes are amazing.

Great food and atmosphere. Steak is fantastic, 7$ burger and fries on Tuesdays are amazing, and 5$ chicken sandwitches on Thursday are great. The only problem is the staff which are always moody, rude, or just ignore you.

Food is reasonably priced! Food is yummy! The grilled pear salad was amazing. The pulled pork nachos was huge and yummy. Beer was pricier than expected.

We all really enjoyed this restaurant. We ordered the general tsos cauliflower, fried cheese curds and a few different sandwiches. Everything was delicious. Portion size was great and service was friendly and quick. My only 4 star for atmosphere was because it's a bit dark in the dining area. I'm old so that's probably why I felt that way. Definitely recommend. We had tickets for Phipps and had no problem getting there on time.
