Very nice experience food was great! I love their salmon with the julienned veggies and the potatoes so delicious. My husband had the chicken parm and he also had their chicken and rice soup he said it was very good. Chocolate cake was delicious too! We will definitely be back soon!

The food was fantastic. Flavorful, harty, delicious! I was there at lunch and it was very quiet. The service was adequate. I would probably go back just to try some of the other dishes on the menu. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

The food and service were exceptional. Seafood chowder was the soup of the day. It was creamy and full of seafood. Our meals came with a very nice salad, relatively large and artistically presented and warm rolls. The marinated pork chops were very tender and tasty and the salmon was delicious. Portions were generous and prices were reasonable. The drinks were well made and I loved the cannoli pie for desert. Our server, George, was very attentive.

We had a wonderful experience here. Portions and add-ons (fresh rolls, side salads) were generous, prices for dinner and drinks were very reasonable, the food was delicious and nicely presented, and the service was excellent. A happy surprise, as we are not from the area and didn't know what to expect when we stopped in. (Note: our main dishes were from the menu, but slightly different than what's listed below.)

Dec 23 - Another birthday dinner with grilled forest chicken pasta, stuffed sole, salmon and lemon veal. Limoncello and carrot cake for dessert. # Late spring 2023 - Nice late lunch in the bar recently. Stuffed mushrooms, turkey benedict and steak sandwiches with two cold martinis. # Excellent birthday dinner 12/2022. 3 Prime Ribs, 2 MR/1 end cut; crumb top sole; warm rum & N/A cider, Bombay Sapphire martini & Dogfish Pumpkin Draft; apps (mussels, fried clam strips, stuffed mushrooms) salads; chocolate mousse cake with lit birthday candle & carrot cake. Still the best Christmas decorations and fine service. # October 2022 we ordered two veal dishes for dinner. The Lemon Veal is sautéed medallions with lemon, butter, capers, rice and fresh green beans. Veal Medallions are sautéed with shiitake mushrooms, plum tomatoes and white wine served with a roasted potato sweet red pepper hash. Both were very flavorful and tender. The house salads are always full of fresh vegetables plus shredded cheese and croutons. # The Trib is consistent. It's why they're still in business and one of my favorite things about this restaurant. I've eaten here many more times than my reviews show and there's never anything negative to report. In late February 2022, we enjoyed steamed mussels with garlic bread made just the way it should be, an order of baked stuff shrimp and a special with sole topped with shrimp. Their salads continue to be bountiful, the baked rolls fresh and service is always friendly. Prime Rib Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. # This Mother's Day, 5/10/20, The Tributary gave us a wonderful take-out meal. Two prime rib dinners, one oriental salmon and one crumbtop sole. Four salads with many ingredients came with the dinners, (multiple dressing choices - their blue cheese is exceptional and house Italian the right blend) Two bags of varied rolls and breads with butter packets were also included. We chose to give The Tributary our business because they are really nice conscientious people, an institution in this part of CT and the food is always reliably good. They in turn, recognizing us as valued customers, gave us two complimentary desserts! A slice of key lime pie, which was one of the best I've ever had, (and I bake a great one myself) and a slice of lemon meringue, also delicious. Very thoughtful of them. To summarize, the two prime rib orders were cooked as ordered, medium rare and medium well. Both came with au jus on the side. The accompanying mashed potatoes (not whipped) were flavorful, and as someone who never serves carrots with steak, somehow really worked here. There are few restaurants today that offer popovers with dinner. Impressive on its own for this reason, they are as they should be, light, tall and the correct density. and come with the prime rib meal. The oriental salmon was tender and sweet. The green bean side was not undercooked nor limp. The rice pilaf was rice pilaf. Baked crumbtop sole with crabmeat stuffing was satisfying with real crabmeat and Hollandaise sauce. Green beans and rice were sides. I'm posting the photos from this meal along with a couple of others I found in my photo archives of other fine menu choices, the hot opened Turkey Benedict sandwich, a salad with roast chicken strips and two coffee drinks. # Fine reliable restaurant which has served the area for decades, whether it's lunch or dinner. Full menu which consists of everything you would expect to see. Plentiful salad bar with many add-on choices and polite service. There is a separate bar room from the dining room. They are closed on Mondays. At Christmas time, they go all out with decorations if you're in the mood to be merry.

Place is fabulous!!! I don't want to say their menu is small, it's more of an intimate menu. They do have nightly specials in addition to their regular menu. All entrées come with bread and a salad (salad bar is no more, thanks to covid). They cook everything top notch, just as you request. We did 2 family birthday dinners here. Their bacon wrapped filet is to die for, my go to. Only place I've ever had one and the bacon comes out perfectly cooked. Our table also got appetizers which consisted of mozzarella sticks (so yummy and that cheese pull 😍), wings, which are absolutely massive, and boneless buffalo wings, which have that spicy kick you're looking for. Other entrées were their prime rib, cooked both rare and medium rare and were both spot on and devoured lol. The french onion soup is a must... packed with amazing flavor and the perfect portion size. We also had their vegetable lasaga, which was huge and packed with filling. You can tell everything they make is a labor of love and the prices are more than fair for the portions they provide. If you're ever in Winsted, check them out... you will NOT be disappointed or leave hungry.

This place is great if you're going out and want to spend more than 2 hours at a restaurant since there was only one waiter in the whole place we waited almost an hour before we got to put in our order and paid way to much for poorly seasoned cold steak and veggies. Their roles, however, are the highlight of the evening.

Very calm and quiet place to kayak fish. Lots of great spots to look for giants. Unfortunately no big ones today but it was well worth the trip.
