The Trailhead - Hotel in South Lake Tahoe - 3892 Lake Tahoe Blvd, USA

My son and I stayed 3 nights for the celebrity golf tournament, this place is great location, quiet and peaceful, easy and safe parking, good food within walking distance. Room had fridge, microwave and k cup coffee, strong shower pressure, clean and no funky smells. Comfortable beds and pillows. Staff was very hospitable and friendly. Great value hotel, highly recommend if on a budget vacation. 👍

We booked it because there were no other hotels available. It is in a very run down and busy area, with cracked pavement all around. The wifi was unusable, and the room was tiny. Also, the drained pool was a dump with trash in it, right outside of our room. This really wasn't a nature experience at all, and I'd highly recommend staying somewhere else if at all possible.

I liked the place clean atmosphere was mellow. We had 22 . If I need to go to Tahoe again I will be calling them Thank you

Awesome pet-friendly motor lodge. Keep reading if you end up staying in one of the rooms with a spa tub, there’s a trick to it! Stayed here for an anniversary ski trip, the contactless check in via lockbox was cool. Clean, spacious, inexpensive room. Not right in Heavenly Village but a really easy 10 min walk from the heart of everything. Very quiet, mostly fellow ski bums like me getting up before the lifts open. So, the spa tub. Between the size of it, the dim lighting, and the mirrors, this is an excellent option if you’re traveling with a significant other ;) but there’s a trick to keeping that hot tub hot that I discovered. See, the hot water heater only makes enough scalding hot water to fill the tub about halfway, then it quickly turns lukewarm and then cold, which means if you leave it unattended until it fills up you’ll be disappointed. Fill it up about a third of the way full, just past the seats. Leave the heater on in the room so the water temp doesn’t drop, go out for drinks or whatever else for a couple hours, come back and keep filling it with freshly hot water! Also my girlfriend left some items in the room, and they were really kind to ship it out to us even though they didn’t have to! Will absolutely stay there again.

This place was just what this weary travel nurse needed after a looooooong trek across the country! Had some days to spare before my next assignment started so last minute decided to kill time in Tahoe and treated myself to a mini 3 day vacation here. The room has a rustic feel which was what I wanted and the jacuzzi tub was 🤌🏼🤌🏼. Great location, walking distance to lots of shops and trails out back. The only cons I have and why I didn’t give 5 ⭐️ are: -the curtains, though blackout, don’t really offer full coverage of the window/privacy -there was a nice long dark strand of hair greeting me in the shower Other than that, the place was what you pay for and I would stay again!

This place is rundown! There is trash all over outside. The rooms look nice when you first enter, but then... There were blood stains on the pillowcase, the sink kept clogging, the toilet stopped flushing, and I woke up with a rash on my hands from the soap. I had been at a different hotel every night for a week and this one was the most expensive and the most disappointing.

Overall, this was a great option for a 1 night stay to go to ski. We were only in the hotel at night to sleep. If you are planning to spend time in the hotel, I would not recommend. Pros: - Very close to Heavenly - Free parking - Dogs allowed - room was large and quiet Cons: - our towels were a little dirty when we arrived - tiny bathroom - the sheets literally felt like table cloths. i have never slept on worse sheets in my life.

This was a pretty good pick. The most important point is they took both Cats for a ~$20 fee and have exterior entrances. I liked the location as it was just a couple blocks past the center of town so it was quiet. It was still close enough to be able to walk to things. The hotel is rustic and well maintained, though the bathroom showed some age. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, perhaps the cleanest hotel carpet I've ever seen. Good water pressure and thick towels added to the comfort. A continental breakfast is served at 8 which is late but coffee makers are available for the rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful wooded area across the street.
