Underrated, a good place to go to especially if the Library is full, usually you'll be able to find an available room when you get there or in an hour.
I really like to study and do my assignment there. the place is spacious and there are computers everywhere. I love that Starbucks is open 24h there. There is a helping desk and a tech support working 24h. The only thing that I don't like is that most of the computers keyboards are a little bit dirty.
1. I miss the Starbucks that was open 24 hrs during the week. The employees were so kind and friendly! I miss them.
2. The TECH staff is helpful but also very effective in always making me feel self conscious about my questions and how much of a bother I’m being by talking to them.
3. I understand it has to be cold for the computers but does it have to be THAT cold? There is always a point in the night that I am too cold to think about anything other than how cold I am, therefore distracting me from my studies so I go home to snuggle myself in my bed and go to sleep before finishing everything I wanted to get done.
4. This place is definitely cursed.
Great place for Temple students to study and complete assignments. There are many computers and a monitor that at the top stairs that shows location of available computers. PC and Apple computers are available as well as double monitor setups. A variety of printing services available such as high volume black and white, color printing, and large plotter printing. There are also study rooms and rooms for media students.
The Tech has a multitude of high-speed internet desktops, a keyboard lab, three compact recording studios, study rooms to reserve, a graphics lab, two printing rooms, and a Starbucks on the first floor that is available to the public and almost matches the Tech's hours of operation. While there is plenty of bathroom space, students tend to treat the facilities with neglect unfortunately leaving the custodian with overly tedious work. Personally, I enjoy getting my work done here as it is usually quiet and lax about having beverages near the equipment.
It's really the only place I can go to study, everything you need for assignments are here, plus I don't have to use my terrible Comcast WiFi. Only problem is that it can get hella noisy and nothing is ever done about it. Also some people vape in the TECH and it's literally the worst thing ever.
Isn't this supposed to be a 'study facility'? People now don't hesitate to talk at their full capacity right in front of you, and when you ask to talk less loud - they would laugh. Horrible, absolutely horrible. Sad to be paying all this tuition money for facilities I cannot use because of obnoxious students out there at Temple University. Didn't use to be like that 3 years ago, people would at least be a little more quiet if you ask, and more people came here to actually work, not eat and hang out.
Maybe you'll remove all the computers and put more sofas around, for all social birds out there? If you do, please move them to the library, which really needs more updated equipment.
Great facility, but it gets very crowded from like 8-11 on weeknights.
