What a cool place at the lake to get amazing food. Non smoking backwoods cabin vibe! Nice variety of menu items for all. We had the pork chop last trip and last night the Wagyu beef double burger and fries. Phenomenal experience both times. Be sure to get reservations as it’s a popular place with limited seating. Decent bourbon selections also 🥃. We will be back!!!

Out of my 1.6K reviews and almost 4M views...I hope EVERYONE finds The Tavern at Trails End near lake of the Ozarks! This was an outstanding experience from the quaint setting to the fantastic cuisine. Chef (John) and hostess (Sherri) are absolutely the best! It is rare that the chef comes out, explains the menu and the inspiration behind his creations and then checks in after the meal! Phenomenal, hands down 5 STARS. Waitress, Bethany was also amazing and so sweet to us. This was the best anniversary experience we have had to date in our 24 years :) Well done, ALL! Even though the pics are good....they don't compare to the flavor extravaganza you will experience here.

Updated 6/25/23: We decided to go back this morning to the Tavern at Trails End for brunch. We had a much better experience than last time we were here. Everything was great. A group of 3 of us tried out The Tavern at Trails End today for brunch. We had looked online and the menu looked amazing. This is in the location of the old Hurricane Dollies. We tried calling to ask about reservations, knowing they would probably be busy for Mother's Day, but they never answered, so we went anyway around 11:30 AM. When we got there, we were told that the earliest they could get us in was 1:30. We noticed they had a special brunch buffet that looked good so we decided to come back for our reservation 2 hours later. When we arrived, we were seated fairly quickly and our waitress was very quick and friendly. The 3 of us went through the buffet line and got a sampling of different things. When we started eating we were really disappointed with the food. Much of it wasn't warm, but room temperature or cold. The food flavor was OK at best (possibly related to food temperature and possibly sitting out too long). There was an egg quiche dish that was very unpleasant. The tastiest item was the country fried chicken, but it wasn't enjoyable not being warm. Not being happy with the food, we couldn't even finish the one plate we each had. We were very disappointed when we got our bill to find out the buffet was about $39/person. I would have to say that our experience was not worth the price. All that being said, I think this restaurant has a lot of potential. The building setup and design is awesome. The facility itself is very architecturally interesting as it is an old log cabin. The regular menu looks awesome with a lot of unique ingredients. We will have to give it another try sometime for dinner and hopefully have a better experience.

Met the owner and executive chef John during our dinner. We came in from Chicago just to try this place. Heard it’s one of the best in America. Started off with tomato bisque, very fresh, savory and homemade. My boyfriend had the hog chop which he then said, it was full of flavor and delicious (Please note: he is picky and critiques food often, professionally). I had the chefs special which included 2-4 oz filet medallions and they were some of the most tender filets I’ve had, loved that! John made a great impression and shared a story about how he opened up one of the few Michelin star restaurants in chicago a few years back, which was really cool. Will definitely recommend and hope to get a chance to dine in again

This is an amazing place! Great for friends, families, buds or a girls dinner. The owners treat their staff well and their staff treats customers like family! We are always getting the specials... the tomahawk ribeye and scallops last night were superb! Such a charming location, and relatively new (and welcome) addition to the Ozarks!

I came to this place with my bachelorette party and when I tell you everything was amazing! Down to the chef who came by our table several times to chat with us. Our server Mia. And most importantly the food!! 10/10 would come here again!

This is definitely the lake’s newest hidden gem. The first time I came here (about three weeks ago) it was so busy we couldn’t get a table. I had heard so many rave reviews that I just had to come back though so I made a reservation (highly recommended but not necessarily required). You may feel a little lost when you turn down the gravel road to get here, but keep driving. Don’t be fooled by the appearance when you first pull up. The owners here put their money where it matters, into the food and service. We brought some friends here tonight and I’ve never heard anyone rave about food like I did this evening. From the appetizers to the desserts, this place has definitely earned its reputation as the best restaurant at the lake. The waitress did mention that the specials aren’t always available and highly recommended the ones this evening. Two of the four in our group tried them and were blown away. The other two ordered off the regular menu and were just as impressed. You won’t be disappointed here. I love the ambiance here, the service is on point, and the food is unlike anything else you can get at the lake. I’m a seafoodie and I loved the seabass and the scallops. My husband is more of a beef lover and he had the special (flat iron). Portions are on point. Price is on point, especially for the quality. Give this place a try at least once, you won’t be disappointed.

My only complaint was it was a bit chilly on the "heated" patio but after a delicious rum runner and smoked wings and delicious pork nachos I warmed up.
