The Tamarack - Hotel in Ellicottville - 6447 Holiday Valley Rd, USA

Hotel is going to be going through a bit of a remodel, that's great, but overall you can't get a better location. Pool and hot tubs are really good, can't beat the sauna and the restaurant right there. Don't come with expectations of luxury, it's a ski resort and they do a fantastic job.

This place is a good location for skiing, golfing, visiting Niagara Falls(about an hour away). A lot of nice little towns around. Tia, Curtis and Shannon were very helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and answer our questions. Two of the other employees may need some customer service training. These are the two older ladies that work at the front desk. When we first arrived being it’s our first time here we were scoffed at and if we asked any questions they either ignored us or acted as they were having to run a marathon to answer us or help us. Those two employees could learn a lot from Tia and Curtis on how to treat guests, especially if they want continuous customers for job security. Rooms were comfortable and served their purpose. Pool and hot tub was open one day of our 5 day stay. The prices of the store up front by the desk are very reasonable while the vending machines and restaurant were not. Parking was pretty well but it was not super busy while we were staying. Thanks again Tia, Curtis and Shannon for your hard work and quality hospitality. Holiday Valley owners, I hope you take this review in consideration and reward the three good employees and possibly correct the others. Thank you.

Good time-share condo rentals. First room we saw was tired looking, but studio we changed to, facing hill near pool, was in very good condition. Staff very friendly. Outdoor pool and hot tubs fun after a day of skiing. Can't beat location to lifts.

Stayed one night at the Tamarack and was expecting a much better experience then my family did. Upon arrival we were met with not the friendliest front desk staff. After receiving our keys, we were told that elevator was out of order and we would need to walk 3 flights up to our level. Once we arrived to our room, the smell was unbearable as though the bathroom was never cleaned between guests or that there were left dirty diapers soemwhere in the room. We went back down to the front desk to see if we could be moved to another room and once again was met with attitude from the female front desk receptionist. There was only one other room tht was available that was a lesser of the two rooms, which we agreed to take because there was no other option. when going into their garage, we were met with muliple smokers while we were trying to grab our skis. I was suprised that the building would allow smoking inside the garge. After coming back from skiing we went to get in the hot tub, but was unable to because there were teenage splashing each other with no adult supervision or hotel management intervening. During the night we were awakened to a young man screaming a racist slur that starts with "N". Again, there was no property security managing the situation. We ened up leaving early in the morning because we were unable to sleep. When leaving the room, there was a stench of vomit. There were also a pile of towls that had what looked like vomit on them. I travel extensively professionally and personally. I have never been to such a poorly managed property. I am disappointed that a place that demands such a high cost per night would produce such a poor experience. I tried calling to speak with managment and again was met by a femal front desk receptionist that was rude and had a flippant attitude when asking to speak with a manger and explaining our family's experience. I was told that my comments would be forwarded to a manger but I have not received any communication.

Love the beautiful atmosphere of motel itself, nice people at the desk for checking in. Room was fairly clean. Room 420 needs a new mattress, my husband and I barley got any sleep. The mattress has a sink hole in the middle. VERY uncomfortable. We paid to SLEEP here and the mattress/bed made it impossible. Then to top it off the coffee maker is extremely old and would not brew a full put no matter what I tried and the sugar/creamer packets were so old they smelled funny. I hope these things are fixed so the next people don't pay $222.00 for only 19 hours of us , to have it be such a disappointment

This was Amazing, it was a bit small for 4 people, But overall it was a good time,. whether it is for skiing or golf it was in a great location! I will go back next spring or summer to try Golfing on site and for a little bit of the local night life

ALL staff were exceptionally friendly & offered good suggestions (Tara, Dawn, Sean, etal). Our corner 2 bdrm overlooking the golf course was huge, clean & comfy with everything we needed. Perhaps other prior reviewers' comments re: cleanliness were due to lack of staff during Covid? A nice welcoming surprise was a bottle of wine from Elliottville Winery we not only enjoyed on the balcony patio, but prompted a visit there for more tastings, so kudos for supporting the community. Due to our evening arrival time, their onsite restaurant John Harvard's was much appreciated & our fish dinners were both tasty. Also liked the return of complimentary coffee in the lobby to enjoy as we planned our day. Lovely grounds well kept. Didn't use the amenities, but others seemed to be enjoying immensely (pool, exercise room, etc). A very minor issue regards our being spoiled with a washer/dryer inroom in most 2bdrm unit timeshare exchanges. Didn't mind paying for the onsite laundromat, but the dryer takes more than 1 cycle, so may need replacing? We'd return in a heartbeat & learned it's much easier to book weekdays vs weekends.

Great location, close to town. Rooms were just ok, had to stay there for a wedding. The restaurant attached, John Harvards, is so completely filthy. The floor, upholstery all visibly stained and gross. Food mediocre.
