The Swan Hotel - Featured Reviews (121)
Absolutely adored our stay in this lovely location. We were in one of the charming cabins, adjacent to the main building. Our accommodation included every amenity you could want including nice robes, a jetted tub, a sweet patio with comfy Adirondack chairs and a basket full of essential utensils. The place was immaculate, the beds very comfortable, and there was plenty of extra sitting space. We would definitely recommend The Swan and would stay there again if we were ever back in Port Townsend. Well done!
My husband and I stayed one night at the Swan Hotel after sailing from Olympia to Port Townsend. It is across the street from the maritime center, a block from the marina, walkable to good restaurants, shops and bakeries. The Swan building itself is historic and charming. Our room was clean and bright, nicely furnished and set up with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Wonderful shower! It was a bit of a splurge for us but entirely worth it.
This hotel is in a great location, but it is a touch unloved. We stayed in the main part (not in one of the little cottages) and there is a wooden ramp that is in need of some repairs. Ditto for the two flights of exterior wooden stairs that lead to the third floor where our room was located. Once you climb the stairs to the third floor you will discover a wonderful view of the water which is a delightful place to sit and relax. There were two couples and the big room on the third floor accommodated us beautifully. In fact there is a loft available so even more could stay in that big room. We could have cooked there if we had wanted to. But we chose to eat in town. We were able to park our car and walk everywhere so it was an ideal choice for us.
We had a great stay here! Perfect location and very central to all of town. Staff were friendly and helpful. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and cosy. Perfect for two! We will definitely stay again.
Amazing stay! I have been wanting to stay here for sometime but they are always booked. It did not disappoint. Super clean, bedding was great, friendly atmosphere. They actual care about the waste we as consumers produce and take actions to reduce it. They are pet friendly. They don’t fleece you for traveling with your dog. They provide you with dog towels, treats, bowls and a tray to feed the pooch on. That’s value! Can’t wait to go back.
Although this was our first stay in Port Townsend, I wouldn't be surprised if Swan Hotel is the best place to stay for an overnight stay. It is close to everything and walkable too. Our pet-friendly room on the first floor was extremely comfortable and clean. It made a huge difference for my wife and Rocket (our small dog). The front desk and the cleaners were very friendly. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Actually, this hotel makes it easier for wanting to return in the near future.
The Swan Hotel is in an ideal Port Townsend location with high walkability to downtown’s many shops, restaurants, tourist attractions and marina. There are individual cabins and a main hotel with several floors and rooms. We stayed in the Penthouse suite. The rooms with stairs are not ADA accessible. What keeps this hotel from getting 5 stars for me is really just the wear and tear and age of the space. The exterior carpets and paint could use a refresh and interior wise, there is a lot of oak that shows its age and heavy outdated furniture. I think The Swan offers a comfortable stay; it’s just not the most modern stay out there. The toiletries were individually portioned and a great feature. The kitchen is a great size. And if you’re looking for a large gathering space, the Penthouse has 2 additional loft beds that can be added to the stay making for essentially a 4 bedroom house. All in all a comfortable stay, a staple hotel in Port Townsend’s landscape, and a great location with kind staff.
We were on a road trip when we decided to stay in the beautiful town of Port Townsend. We drove through town and ended up at the waterfront, where we discovered the Swan Hotel. The person at the desk let us see the cabin (#1), and we immediately fell in love with it! The bed was wonderful! The room came stocked with the coziest robes and fluffiest plush towels. We curled up by the fireplace and enjoyed the atmosphere of the vaulted ceiling and woodwork. It was the favourite hotel of our entire trip down to San Diego, and I will highly recommend staying at the Swan Hotel to everyone! And we definitely will want to return!
Loved staying in this old building! So interesting and unique. The room felt enormous with it's crazy high ceilings. Perfect location. I know it's a historic building, but the rooms do feel like they could use an extra touch of historically accurate
We LOVE Marina Cafe! They have lunch everyday that comes with a salad, chips, cookie and soda and whatever hot sandwich/wrap is made for the day. On Thursday through Saturday evenings, they now have tapas, beer, cider and wine and it is the best thin
I went here for my first time today. It was amazing! I had absolutely no idea this museum and restoration shop was even here. This place helps kids get in to aviation too. I loved it. If I didn't live so dang far, I would definitely volunteer as an A
Wonderful park with great play areas and beautiful quiet areas to contemplate the universe. Be sure to check out the bench swing and many secret gardens
Our favorite restaurant in Port Townsend! So good we went 2 nights in a row during our trip. We came back for their amazing pasta and ice cream! The seasonal ice cream was apple pie and itâs the best! Their devil eggs and scallops are our favorites
My wife and I drove up from Poulsbo for the day to be tourists. We asked a local merchant for a recommendation. He gave us 3 choices and we chose the Fountain Cafe. Itâs a block from the main road but worth the walk.
Wow. The food was fantast
