A Hidden Gem in Lake George - A Perfect Labor Day Weekend at The Stone Gate Resort My family and I have been visiting the Lake George area for the past 27 years, yet somehow, we never ventured beyond the main town. This July, while staying elsewhere, we stumbled upon The Stone Gate Resort by chance after dinner at The Boathouse Restaurant. Intrigued, we pulled into the property, and the well-kept landscape and serene lakeside location made it clear that this is where we wanted to stay next. We returned for Labor Day weekend, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The Stone Gate Resort, a family-run gem, provided the peace and quiet we were seeking, just a short drive from the bustling main town. The rooms and cabins are impeccably clean, and the entire staff, including the owners and their children, offered hospitality that is truly second to none. For those looking to escape the noise and crowds while still being close to the main attractions, The Stone Gate Resort is the perfect choice. The convenience of a full mini-market right next door was an added bonus. We can’t wait to return and look forward to our next stay.

Currently staying here. Staff are super friendly, everyone is always giving off happy vibes. I told the front desk I am waiting for a door dash delivery for my child’s medication delivered to the office and next thing I knew she walked it over to our room. Rooms are nice, views are gorgeous, everything outdoors is super clean, even the parking lot. You could tell they take pride in their hotel. Thank you for the great service!! It’s not easy to stay at a hotel with a young toddler but here I feel taken care of!

This is our second year at Stone Gate. It not only met our expectations but exceeded once again. Our large family of 35, loved every moment. Service, amenities and grounds are perfect. The lake and deck have all the fun water toys. The cabins are well stocked, clean, updated with that Adirondack feel. The beds are so cozy!! We’ve been coming to LG for 47 years. We had to look for a new resort last year but it was a blessing in disguise because we found our new home away from home. Staff is fantastic too. Treat this family run resort like you’re home and they will treat you like you’re familu. See you next year, friends!

My friend and I are currently staying at the Stone Gate Resort directly on Lake George. We are so impressed with this resort! They treat you like family, or like you own the place and they work for you. The grounds, pristine swimming pool and beach are impeccably manicured and our (2) rooms are beyond extremely clean and beautifully decorated. So far every staff member we’ve met has gone out of their way to be helpful and everyone is soooo polite! For people who like to camp, there are numerous fire pits, each surrounded by heavy duty Adirondack chairs, grills and picnic tables - plus they have a ton of private cabins, each with their own. We are definitely coming back here!! I’ve stayed in amazing resorts before but I’m most comfortable here. I think my high blood pressure has plummeted!!

This was our first trip to lake George. The Stone Gate Resort was a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the lake with our family. It is a short drive to the village or Bolton Landing. The resort itself was even better than expected and the staff were extremely professional and kind. This is a family owned resort. they take pride in making it feel like you are part of the family while here.

Absolutely beautiful! This family owned resort is just fantastic! With 2 bedroom cabins as well as hotel rooms, your family or group cannot go wrong by selecting The Stone Gate Resort as your vacation destination in Lake George. We’ve never been the the area but came here for respite after a difficult 2024. This place has everything…striking beach, pickleball, basketball court, playground, pool, laundry, fitness center and game room (including billiards). The price is reasonable and the staff was amazing. Oh and the bed…perfect! Thank you Stone Gate for an amazing getaway!

We’ve stayed all over the lake over the last 10+ years. We found the Stonegate 2 years ago and haven’t stayed anywhere else. The resort has everything that you need, including golf cart service down to the lake and back up- a serious game changer. Paul and Adrienne walk the property frequently and check in on their guests. In our opinion, it truly doesn’t get better than this. We have a great time every summer. Our new home away from home.

This resort is adorable, quiet, and in all ways welcoming and delightful. The rooms are spacious, and have microwaves in them. There's a large table in the room as well. The lake is a short walk down the hill and a shuttle will come drive you up if you ask for one. Would absolutely stay there again. The folks that own it are super kind as well.
