The Stockade Inn - Hotel in Schenectady - 1 N Church St, USA

The Stockade Inn is a gem - we had a wonderful stay in a spacious, newly renovated room. The gorgeous nineteenth-century building has been maintained with care and a sense of history and beauty. Work on the hotel is ongoing, but everything on the premises looks great. The hosts were accommodating and easy to contact. I grew up in the area, and it was a delight to share both the Inn and the historic Stockade area of Schenectady (right outside the hotel) with my family. We look forward to another visit.

We wanted something with character rather than a chain hotel. The Stockade Inn was exactly that. The building has history, the room was very large and comfortable, the owners were very accommodating, and the location was great - within walking distance of points of interest and restaurants. We would definitely return.

This is a charming hotel in an awesome historic neighborhood. The rooms are clean and newly renovated. There are still renovations taking place so the bar and restaurant were not yet open. However, the staff was very accommodating and willing to help with dinner reservations and breakfast recommendations. I can't wait to go back and see it again once the renovations have been completed.

A total gem! We discovered The Stockade Inn while strolling through the picturesque historic Stockade District and didn’t have a reservation but thought, “What the heck, let’s call just to see.” Sure enough, owner John answered and was generous enough to take our last minute booking and go the extra mile to accommodate us. We felt really welcomed. John and Zahar are awesome hosts and visionary proprietors who love Schenectady and are lovingly restoring the inn to its former glory. Our room was spacious with comfy Queen beds, a large updated bathroom, and lovely details. It was a delight to discover this place and we can’t wait to come back when the coffee shop and restaurant are open! The wellness studio, also beautiful, looked very enticing. Next time we’ll plan better so we can spend more time and get in a yoga class too!

We stayed one night in The Stockade Inn for a weekend visit to Schenectady. The Inn itself is a magnificent building. The room was very clean and very comfortable and the location is great. Check in and check out were super easy. The Inn is still under renovations so on-site amenities were limited at the time of our visit, but everything we needed was close at hand.

My family rented the Dining Rooms in the Stockade Inn for a memorial service and luncheon. The rooms were elegant and set up to our specifications. John and his staff were gracious and helpful during preparations and throughout the service and luncheon. I would not hesitate to plan another event there.

The Stockade Inn was our venue for my our parents anniversary party and it was lovely! The building and rooms are just gorgeous. John and Zakhar were wonderful hosts. John was very knowledgeable recommending caterers and coordinating the event. The day of, Zakhar couldn’t have been more helpful. Everything from helping with decorations to technology set up! They even helped with the surprise!!! We had to change venues at the last minute and I am thankful we did now because the party was so much better having been at the stockade inn! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time as we enjoy the Stockade area when visiting our daughters there. The owner of the Inn was very accommodating to our strange schedule for arrival and everything was prepared properly for our one nights stay! The room was both comfortable and supplied all our needs.
