The Star Restaurant & Bar is open Monday through Saturday for dining and drinks. The bar stays open later hours when busy. Make sure to check our website for a schedule of live music on weekends.
Although Hotel is in our name, we do not currently have rooms for rent.
Salud Catering & The Star Hotel offer full-service catering in Northern Nevada for small gatherings and large parties.

What a wonderful restaurant. Family style dining, with plenty of food! All homemade from the salad dressing to garlic mayonnaise on the steak sandwich. Entree portions are large enough for any appetite or for generous leftovers! It was such a nice experience we went back 2 days later to try some more!
We got to the restaurant just after 5pm & were seated right away (mostly family-style seating, typical of Basque restaurants). Immediately upon ordering, we were served tasty cabbage soup & hearty bread. Then, a delicious, chilled salad with ample creamy mild blue cheese or garlic dressing. Then the main course arrived, along with a variety of included sides: shoestring fries, red beans & garbanzos, spaghetti, & green beans. The baked lamb dish was moist & tender. The top sirloin steak (ordered med rare) was overcooked (med WELL), dry, & disappointing. I did not bring it to the server's attention - the portions were large, and though it wasn't how I wanted it cooked, it was edible & would make good sandwiches the next day. I only mention it here because the people seated beside us ordered the tenderloin & the woman commented that hers was also very dry & overcooked. All in all, if I lived nearby, I'd probably try to eat here once a week. I appreciated the excellent service & hospitality, and would just make sure to clarify my cooking preference in the future.
Didn't know anything about the hotel but the dining and bar are fantastic. The steaks are to notch cuts of meat. The sides are family style and excellent. One of the best steaks I've had. Neat surprise.
Really a great experience. We had the beef tongue that was delicious as an appetizer and the lamb chops that me and my husband shared. It’s a lot of food and the lamb was very tasty. The soup and bread are very good as well, but the beans and pasta are just ok.

live up to it! Wonderful traditional Basque food and of course the Pecan Punch cocktail! Inside, the ambiance is very Badque with herding pictures and a stamped metal ceiling. The service was very friendly and accommodating. I am so glad we finally got to try the Star!
We didn't stay here, just came to eat. The line before opening the dining room was a testament! Unique and tasty! Family style dinner opened with cabbage soup, then salad, and pass arounds with the entrees. Lamb chops were very tender. Cool experience.
Just stopped for dinner. Great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. If you have chicken fried steak beware, it is a huge serving plus all the sides of bean', etc. Definitely enough to share, which we did. If we're ever in Elko again, this is where we will eat.
Always a staple of our trips to town. This place has ruined me for any other steak sandwich. The steak is a great tender cut that you don't need a knife and fork for! We go often for lunch and dinner...happy hour too!
