The food is so good I have gone four times this week for the gazpacho soup and the rolls and chef is so attention and cares! Better than it ever was before too! Their stone oven pizza is outstanding and their pasta as well. Strongly recommend when you need a lift to your health system or just for great food with reasonable prices in this day and age, hard to find. Came here today and got pizza and gazpacho soup to go. So so delicious!
Been here a couple of times and will definitely return. The food always tastes great and the service is consistently nice whether it's busy or slow. We've had their pizza and some different pastas. Always yummy. Anything you try will be good, it's that kind of place.
I've been coming here since I was little. I have not been back since they reopened after covid and we tried eating there last night. We got there around 7 and walked into the door and waited, the hostess working the register at the front did not greet us, make eye contact or even acknowledge that we were there. She was busy with what looked like to go orders. I could see that they were slightly busy but nothing too crazy so my friend and i waited for a bit hoping someone would tell us if there was a wait time, or just let us know that they were busy and would be with us in a minute. I guess I was in the waiters way a couple times and he politely asked me to move so I did. The front entrance is pretty tight and there's really no room for more than a few people to stand without blocking the door or in the way of the table by the window. I was expecting the hostess to say something to us, anything really. But instead I guess I was in her way too and she needed to get by me and said "excuse me" and squeezed by. Mind you, I had moved myself as far over as I possibly could and I couldn't exactly go back outside to wait because no one had acknowledged that we were waiting for a seat. After almost 10 minutes of waiting, no one said anything to us and at this point we just feel like we were in their way so we left. It's unfortunate that we didn't get to eat here but we did not feel very welcomed so we had to eat somewhere else.
We just had our daughter’s birthday lunch here and it was perfect. The staff set up a long table upstairs for us and the kids and adults had the most beautiful lunch! Elias was just wonderful! Super supportive and attentive. Thank you to all the staff at Star Cafe for a perfect day! We recommend this place to ANYYYY party!
This is a must- visit restaurant. It's steeped in the history of downtown Montrose. You think you're in the 1950s or 60s. The food is excellent and the prices are fair. The warm rolls are heavenly!
Not organized at all! Orders take too long to be made. There’s more waiting when you arrive at the restaurant to pick them up. By this time, you’re really frustrated! What’s more, the food is not worth all the waiting—it’s very average. Disappointingly, the pizza that we got was cold when we brought it home. Will not return.
Wonderful service provided by Natalie. We were alone dining upstairs and she ran up and down often bringing us our delicious dinner and making sure we had everything we needed, all with a big smile!
Perfect late lunch spot with great food, friendly and caring service in a modern café located in a quaint neighborhood. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this place, starting with the warm rolls for dipping in olive oil and Balsamic Vinegar to the chocolate raspberry cake for dessert!

I've been searching for a place the makes go crab cakes and wasn't disappointed. Their tasty crab cakes were crisp on the outside and l tender on the inside. We also tried their edamame. I order a couple of sides as well. It was a nice last minute di
The food was great and the service was even better! Friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa were perfect. I drove all the way from Burbank because I wanted to try this restaurant, and it did not disappoint me. ð Good parking, highly recommend
Very kind staff. Helpful, and patient with customers that do not know their pastries. Grabbed two apple turnovers and a chocolate croissant for about $13. Small and quaint shop. Just off the main walkway in Montrose, north west corner of ocean view a
We had such a great experience. I ordered a dish that had too much garlic and sauce for my liking but they were able to replace it with something else- no questions asked. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. Her upbeat personality made the
Not prejudice but when we walked in the landscape was majority white and other us and the workers were the only Mexican & Chicanos. In the Restaurant so I was judging the book by its cover thinking the food was no good or no flavor but I was wrong

It was a different experience here, the best part was that it wasn't jammed packed, like most places in the valley, it's more of a small town feel to itðððððð
