The Standard Restaurant Downtown - American restaurant in Fort Myers - 1520 Broadway, USA

I'm visiting the area an I met a friend at this restaurant in the River District. Our server Katie was super attentive and helpful. I ordered the grouper sandwich which was fresh and tender. I also liked the chips it came with. My friend had the chicken salad sandwich which was described as "just OK. " The atmosphere inside was a bit dark for lunchtime. Maybe it's better in the evening for dinner. There are so many restaurants in that area I probably wouldn't come back on the next visit.

Brunch, bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, drag queen karaoke, great friends, and great food? You can’t ask for much more and The Standard downtown delivered it all. We were celebrating a 40th birthday and our waitress Sarah was amazing, very personable, and always ensuring that we happy. She didn’t miss a beat. The karaoke was great. While it’s a small venue, it didn’t feel cramped, it was a fun and happy environment. We ate pretty much everything on the menu as there were 12 of us. Our favorites were the smoked salmon flatbread (we ordered it three times) and the poutine fries. Most everyone ordered some variation of eggs Benedict and no one was disappointed. This is a must visit for a Saturday morning brunch!

The food was amazing. It was karaoke Saturday so it was a super fun atmosphere. The service from our designated server was very poor. However others around did refill our bottomless drinks and clear our table of dishes and glasses. We tipped them as well separately. Our table of 4 are all in the food/service industry so we are very empathetic to servers, hostesses, cooks etc so it has to be pretty bad for us to make mention of it. Love the Standard and will definitely go back.

Lauren was a super sweet waiter and I loved how she gave her opinions on the food. We had poutine, country fried pork, my bf got chicken and waffles. All of it was absolutely delicious!

Burgers here are amazing. I stumbled in here accidentally and was told they had the best burgers by the staff. Figured I would give it a shot. Holy cow, was I absolutely blown away by the taste of the burger. Got the GOAT burger, which had fried, goat cheese, and hints of jelly. I know it doesn't sound amazing....but it tastes amazing. I am not even into goat cheese, but everything on this burger worked so well together, and every bite was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the char on the patty was a perfect compliment to each bite. Excellent burger...must try. Chill atmosphere, and they look like they have live music at night. I went there for lunch, so I didn't see that personally. Friendly service. Erica, the kitchen manager, also makes the desserts. Cheesecake was amazing with a great crust that made me wanting more after each bite. Our waitress was Lilli, who was friendly and professional. Was quick to recommend things off the menu as well as other things to do in the area. Great spot if you are nearby. Highly recommend them if you are in the area.

Sarah and KT were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Especially making sure our mimosas were topped off. 💚💚

We had a great time at the Standard. When we got sat, Tim ( who was not our server) realized that we had not been helped yet and immediately came to our aid. He was joyful, joking and professional. He enjoyed small talk and immediately helped with our ordered while providing a fun astomphere. The standard was fun,l we enjoyed our meal, time, and server.

Food menu is great, people were nice, but it was simply too slow. We stayed patient, but hard to give a good review with the amount of time it took for our food. For context, it took us 1 hour to get our appetizer, which was chips. I think they will improve, but had to give an honest review of our experience.
