The Spotted Donkey Cantina - Restaurant in Clearwater Beach - 400 Mandalay Ave, USA

My wife and I were visiting from out of town and we couldn’t have been happier to stop in and have dinner at the Spotted Donkey. Our server was Renee and she was incredible. Her personality paired with her attention to detail really made our dinner excellent. She was patient, kind and really went above and beyond throughout our dining experience. We will definitely be back and we hope that Renee is our server. Always a great feeling to walk into a restaurant and truly feel “taken care of”.

Food was great, service was even better. Renee was super attentive and friendly. We had the kicking nachos, was plenty enough to share for 2. The Cantina Shooters were like Russian roulette some were super spicy and some weren’t, order at your own risk… Round 2 dinner because we had to come back.

We are from Ohio and were here around Christmas with the family, and we had already planned on being here after reading the reviews. But the experience is even better. Everything was perfect. Food, drinks, server, service, location. Renee was very sweet and kind and patient with us especially with kids, it was a very happy experience. Will definitely visit again when we get a chance.

Food was amazing. I can not say enough great things about this place. Barbara was our waitress, I’ve been in FL for 6yrs she’s the best I’ve had here ever. She was very attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. 2 out of 3 of us had food allergies and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. The restaurant was very accommodating and made sure all needs of our allergies were met.

Great food and service!! We came in for lunch and it was busy but our food came out fast and hot! Server was knowledgeable about the menu and checked in on us often. Nice craft cocktails.

Very surprised by the dining experience in a good way. We went for a late lunch/early dinner with a group of 6 adults, 2 children. We were seated promptly. The food was very good, especially the salmon tostada. We got a pitcher of margaritas and had them add some jalapeño to make it spicy. Next time we would pass on the white sangria. We celebrated two birthdays and they brought out delicious churros with chocolate and caramel sauce to celebrate. Overall good experience and would return

Service from Angel and Food was Awesome!! He was very Sweet, assertive and knowledgeable about the menu!! :) He made our vacation an even better time!! The Manager came by the table and was also very Kool and helpful!! :) All of the employees was also very nice!! Will be back for sure!! Thanks for telling us about the microwave in the hotel!! :)

Went to The Spotted Donkey recently and, honestly, it was a bit of a disaster. The food was really bad. We ordered a bunch of stuff and pretty much all of it was a no-go. Seriously, most of it ended up just sitting on our plates. The service was okay, but felt slow. It was like we were on pause while everything else was in slow motion. Not exactly what you want when you're out for a meal. The soft drinks were the only saving grace – they were actually decent. But when a soda is the highlight of your dinner, that's not a great sign, right? Plus, the prices were way too high for what we got. Felt like we were paying gourmet prices for fast-food quality. The place itself looked nice, had a good vibe to it. But honestly, when the food is that off, a nice atmosphere just doesn't cut it. They've really got to fix up their menu and service. As of now, can't say I'd recommend it.
