Wow. What an amazing place. Such eclectic and robust food and flavors. Gilberto our server was on top of everything so educated on the menu and flavor profiles. A great place to spend a Friday evening.

Excellent restaurant, food, staff, and ambiance. Celebrated my wife’s 32nd birthday here with a large party of friends and family. From the moment we arrived they greeted us with excitement and enthusiasm. Upgraded our family to a private room in the back, which was amazing. Everyone greatly enjoyed our servers, the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Highly recommend The Slanted Door for any occasion. We will definitely be returning.

Great customer service, food came on a timely manner and was amazing! Try it All! portions was perfect for me. Beef stew came with a Choice of brown rice or white rice and a side of sautéed green beans. Best to make reservations ahead of time since it can get busy!

We got the beef stew (with white rice), the beef pho, a vietnamese coffee and a pear gallette. The food was good except for the pho. Service was excellent and the artmosphere was quite nice. Its a decent place to go to impress someone (it is a bit pricy though)

The Slanted Door in San Ramon proved to be a memorable culinary journey, combining mouthwatering dishes with exceptional service. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere of warm hospitality was palpable. Kristen, our knowledgeable server, expertly navigated us through the appetizing starters, each recommendation bursting with unique and tantalizing flavors. In the midst of this delightful gastronomic experience, a unique spectacle caught my attention – a bottle of Jacob Poli L’arzente Brandy. With its slender, elongated neck, petite base, and an intriguing jewel (see attached photo), it stood as an uncommon artifact in the typical restaurant scene. Noticing my curiosity and the photos I was taking, Daniel, exhibiting exemplary customer service, paused his tasks to engage in my interest. He took the time to ensure I had all the information about this unique brandy, adding a personal touch to the entire dining experience. The Imperial Rolls were an absolute delight, their crunch perfectly complemented by a delectable dipping sauce. Yet, it was the Jicama Salad that ultimately stole the show. Its perfect bite and fresh flavors made it an undeniable highlight of the day. The Slanted Door in San Ramon is a gem in the culinary world, offering not just fantastic food, but also an exceptionally attentive service. The personal attention from the staff, especially Daniel’s, made our visit feel special and tailored. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to any food lover seeking an elevated dining experience. July 2023 update: We had the oppurtunity to sit on the bar and talk with an amazing mixologist named Ricardo, we later found out that he’s Daniel’s brother! 🫶😊 I’m a huge daiquiri fan and so he made me a Bumble Bee and it was perfectly balanced with the two different rums, little egg white froth, cherry design on top, there were other ingredients in it but after two of those just remember the fun time and not the recipe! Thanks to the GM Bobby and to Ricardo for making our stay extra special, we will be back soon!!

The ambiance was great, with high ceilings and glass walls. However that didn't justify the marked up prices of the food. The highlight of the meal was the daicon cake and the duck. One of the best duck we've had, super tender and juicy. The daicon cake was moist and full of umami. The rest of the dishes were mediocre. The ribeye was average and slightly in the dry side. The shaken beef was good, but did not wow us away with the price point. The worst dish of the day was the glass noodles... Rather bland and overcooked. The biggest downfall is the speed of service. Our server was nice but unfortunately very slow. We were waiting around in between the food and the check for almost 30 minutes. The 20 percent auto addition of gratuity was not a pleasant surprise either. In general, I really wanted to like the place since I have been wanting to try the place since they opened. But for the price of almost $300 for 4 people, there are better options at city center.

The good - servers speaks nicely and are smily Not so stellar- -Charge 20% service automatically on bill but no where in the menu says so. But server made sure to say welcome to add more on top. Manager said it’s mandatory 20%. -Made reservations yet when arrived the table was not ready and my guests were standing around. Host was suggesting sit my group of 5pp in a table of 4 and she just add a chair, when clearly there is plenty of space elsewhere for proper seating by joining tables. -Server took plates away and I had to rest my chop stick and fork on my water glass! How awkward for a suppose high end place! No napkins or fresh plates to assist. -Food was well made but not particularly impressive. For my Pho, the basil provided had black bruises all over. Not fresh. -Lunch menu was limited and not impressive. Nothing too creative. Traditional Vietnamese items seems very similar to what offered in neighborhood Vietnamese restaurants except the ambiance better. I guess I went to slanted, the original San Francisco branch, and after looking at their website and Google review for San Ramon branch I had high expectations for the food and service, however at the end the experience fell short from advertised. Nevertheless, it’s not entirely bad but not worth me going again. For lunch expect US40+/person.
