The Sinclair, Autograph Collection - Featured Reviews (430)
The hotel room was not very functional, the size of was odd and I couldn’t even pull the chair out because it would hit the bed. Additionally, there is no parking so you have to valet for $50 per day. I’m giving 3 stars because of these things. The service was pretty good but the manager had attitude with my sister who was here for her bachelorette party.
Great addition to the hotel portfolio of Fort Worth. The hotel, located in the historic Sinclair oil and gas building, is beautifully designed with traditional Fort Worth Art Deco architecture, and has modern technology and amenities like digital light and shower controls in the room. You really feel like you are stepping back into the 20’s when you enter into the beautiful lobby area. The staff was great and very friendly, from check in, to the roof top bar service, to the Wicked Butcher restaurant. We had breakfast at the Wicked Butcher, and the food was excellent. We had an 8th floor king room, and it was on the smaller side, but that is to be expected in an older building like this. My wife and I had a great stay at The Sinclair, and would definitely return.
All style, NO SUBSTANCE. The staff are short and rude. There is NO ICE MACHINE in the entire hotel. So why put an ice bucket in the room?? The front desk said I have to go to the bar downstairs for a cup of ice. What?!
Lots of small things wrong: the light on the mirror in the bathroom doesn’t work. The mini fridge does not get cold (even after adjusting and waiting 3 days). They don’t let Uber eats or any food delivery service park out front to deliver your food. Management I guess wants to funnel every food, water and ice purchase through their bar.
How on earth did this hotel get a thumbs up from Marriott? Believe the bad reviews and book elsewhere. You’ve been warned.
In the heart of downtown since 1930, the Sinclair has been modernized and offers a wonderful experience. Location is everything and this one is fantastic. Building is 17 floors with a rooftop bar on the top floor. Fitness room is open 24 hours. Has good equipment, clean, modern exercise machines, and free weights. The hotel rooms themselves are good size. But technology is where this place shines. Individual controls are all over so set lighting, temperature, and open the blinds. The bathroom has controls for the shower (top shower head or normal angled shower head) water temperature, lighting, music controls, and more. It is pretty cool. Restaurant and bar onsite, but maintained by 3rd party and not inexpensive. Valet parking is over $50 / day, but not a whole lot of choices for parking otherwise.
Great location, beautiful lobby and a glass of champagne as you check in. Cool gadgets in the room. However, our room was tiny and really hot, despite having air con on. The bathroom is frosted glass so you are visible when showering. Also huge gaps in the bathroom door so you can be heard using the facilities...
This is the worst hotel staff experience by far in all my travels around the world. The hotel is very pretty and very high tech but that is all the good I can say. My bed was broken, there is no ice machine so you have to ask the front desk to bring you ice about five times and they bring it in a tiny plastic trash bag. You are way overcharged from what you see on any website with several made up fees. Plus they charge a $150 incidental fee each day you are there and I’m still waiting for those fees to come back into my account. The final hotel bill has cleared, which was $300 over what I was told, but my incidentals are still pending. I will get an attorney if they are not back in my account by the end of the business day today.
My wife and I recently visited this hotel in Fort Worth. The historic decor is nice. Staff, professional and friendly. The hotel lacks basic convenience, such as a gift shop or a ATM. We were constantly told to walk down to the local CVS...I'm like what? I've never heard of such a situation before, plus being a customer of Marriott since 1998. I was very disappointed with our stay, also the tiny valet area has a dangerous slanted curb where my wife fell on the street. Thankfully she didn't hit her head or break a bone. However she was sore for about 3 weeks later. I will not stay here again, and warning if you have back problems do not sleep on these beds. No firm support or box spring to help with getting up...smh..Marriott please reevaluate these items. Silver elite customer.
Positives: Friendly staff, historic hotel near Sundance square with an excellent restaurant in the lobby, Wicked Butcher. Rooms have some high tech upgrades.
Cons: The room was 1202, adjacent to the elevators and away from all other rooms. Looks to have been re-purposed from a utility room to a guest space. Its was reminiscent of a European room, quite small. This was all manageable, except the headboard was up against the elevator shaft. So all night long it sounded like a bowling alley or metal roller coaster. Did not sleep.
Summary: Can’t charge a premium price for a sub-par sleeping experience. Hotel was fully booked, no option to change rooms.
So pleasantly surprised with the most incredible stay at the Sandman in Downtown Fort Worth. I chose this hotel because of the raving reviews it had. I was on work travel and it was out of the way but I am SO glad I chose this hotel.
