The Shrimp Shack - Seafood restaurant in Anacortes - 6168 State Rte 20, USA

Couldn't resist to try this place. Every time I drive by there is a line. My son came to visit me and on our way to deception pass we decided to stop and give it a whirl! I ordered the jumbo shrimp dinner and he ordered the cod fish and chips dinner! I would definitely recommend it. It was deep-fried and homemade beer batter and very yummy, a little pricey but I feel like it was definitely worth the splurge.

1st time. We'll see. Update:12/13/2023 The oyster burger was good. I'm back again for some more oysters. Delicious oysters. Great shrimp of course. And great service too.

Got the shrimp basket as it was the cheapest thing on the menu at close to 20 dollars!! The prices here are top end prices for some fried food, but it was good, and I'd probably go back, but it's gonna be far and few between.

Had the fish and chips special of the day. Very good and nice high quality halibut. Fries were well cooked and flavorful. Thought the price was a bit spendy but they do have other options from both land and sea as the menu puts it. Lots of choices of food and will definitely be back to try other items. The seating is all outdoor which would be nicer if they had an indoor option but it is covered and with heaters. I would suggest they do something better with the trash cans as they're just open next to all the seating. Its a bit like going to your "uncle's back yard bbq " as far as seating area but i guess thats what makes this an area icon with everyone in the region knowing about The Shrimp Shack.

Shrimp burger was EXCELLENT and chips were delicious. The difference in size between the small and medium drinks was hilarious (the small is teeny tiny) but totally adequate. Delicious and an adorable setting. Would definitely return and recommend to people driving past in need for a solid lunch. For those not seafood inclined they also have a variety of “land” based burgers.

I like that they have separate lines for grill and fresh order. I ordered blue crab burger and hush puppies for my side. So the meal comes with fries already. I really liked the burger but not the hush puppies so much.

I got the gator burger, it was good but it didn’t give a strong gator flavor. Also was not a gator patty but more so chunks. Fries are good. I also got two prawns. This place is rather pricey.

What a fantastic hidden gem. Great service and great food. Sit outside in the shade. An old-school hamburger shack feel. Check out the alligator and/or shrimp burger – both are fantastic.
