The Shades Motel - Motel in Baton Rouge - 8282 Airline Hwy, USA

I'm first off a person that is hard to please. But my stay here was so warm and caring, that I had to leave a review. Room was clean and plenty of Hot water, the lady in the evening was friendly and helpful and the gentleman in the morning was the same. I come here monthly and will not go any other place. I have found a home away from home. Thank all the staff and management. God bless

Bon c'est pas un 4 étoiles, on va pas se mentir! C'est un motel, en bord de route, un endroit essentiellement fait pour dormir! On cherchait un motel à la "Supernatural" avec ses chambres un peu datées, la machine a glaçons, celle à boisson, la laverie et la place de parking devant la chambre. C'est LE motel typique pour ton road trip à bâton rouge! L'accueil est très sympa, la prestation à la hauteur du prix et l'emplacement pas si mal vu que forcément t'es en voiture! 😁

The rooms are nice for the price, but they got roaches 🤮 during our stay I've so far found a total of five in our room.

Stayed for a night to do some work in town. Had some doubts pulling in but the room was clean and worth the price, particularly on labor day weekend. Byron the security guard was awesome and friendly. He definitely deserves a raise! Not a fan of most motels but would stay here again due to the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff.

Some of the motel rooms have been there for several years, some parts have new rooms, we got one of the older ones, the room was a pretty good size the bed was good...for the money it was good...our room had a little bit of an odd smell, I guess it was a given seeing the age of the room. I really would not have had any complaints, but we are on the road working third shift and all we usually ask is no housekeeping, so we can sleep...I keep everything clean. When we requested that, the man said no, my cleaning was not like their cleaning, that did't go over well with me, I know how I am with being clean...anyway we ask if it could be every other day ,he said ok. Everyday they were banging on the door, everyday another guy was banging on the door wanting to exchange the towels..I mean come on it, that was to much..so a couple of times we exchanged the towels and told them we didnt need cleaning, the next morning the guy called the room was not nice, he said we were not letting them in to clean and they were coming right then to clean. the girl, came down with her stuff and started in another room, we were so tired and wanted to go to bed...I went in the room and told her to come clean ours, I know she could only understand half of what i said...she replied ok, then started to go in another room, I told her again, she finally did...I wasnt trying to be mean or anything but we were exhausted and I was upset because of the attitude of the manager/front desk guy...If you don't mind the everyday cleaning then its ok, I saw one of the newer rooms as we passed by and what I saw it looked nice...but we have never had a problem from anyone about the housekeeping and usually its not everyday!!!!! so unless I really had no other choice I would rather not go there again.

The cable works and there is a bathtub but the shower curtain is moldy and while it is quieter in the parking lot then most hotels at this level $65 a night is definitely too much and the staff leaves something to be desired as well.

Good place to stay with clean rooms, courteous staff and mostly working class tenants. It's a nice play to stay for a few nights or a few weeks if you're working in the area. After reading some of the other reviews, it seems this motel has completely changed.

The room was great....unexpectedly I slept good and my children....one day get away.....for a stand up shower and jacuzzi tub was everything....
