Much larger than "back in the day. Nice place to eat & have a drink or two. Nice outdoor area with a stage set up.
The band, Lost in America, was phenomenal! Wish they would have been able to play past 10pm.
It kind of gives you a bonfire with friends vibe... like you're out of town without being out of town. Lots of fun, especially if you're looking for somewhere to enjoy the outdoors and have a few drinks with friends. The live music is consistently good and the bartenders are friendly and accommodating.
There Portobello mushrooms fries are like no other in town. So delicious. Great views of the Cedar Riive. Lots of live music. A long-lived jem hidden on the edge of town.
Trust me, you want to try the mushroom fries! Tons of space outside, and inside as well. Beautiful location on the river. Great to drive to or ride to!
Solid bar with lots of outdoor seating. I was there for the All Naturals concert (have them back soon guys!) and really enjoyed it. Great view of the river. I didn't try the food, but someone with me ate and said it was good. It'd be great if they added in a few taps, but the service was friendly and the crowd had a good energy. I'll probably make it back soon, even faster if they keep hosting local live music!
So it's a Thursday, and it's pretty good. Downstairs was really good my only complaint is the overall bar, it matches the name, it's more of a beer shack than a bar. Nothing really on tap and a lot of canned seltzer but the people are really cool and relaxed. Upstair was even better, it seemed like non-stop laughter and the tiki atmosphere really set the stage with the river in the background. I can see this place being a locals daily reunion. Overall my favorite part of the few hours here was all the laughter, everyone just seems so comfortable.

So, are you looking for a place with some eclectic atmosphere? This is it. Don't know about the cold weather season but on a nice Summer day you can't beat a seat at the upper Tiki Bar. Cold beer (cans only), good music and a great view of the river. Food is good, but you have to walk down to the main building to pick it up when the buzzer goes off. Still it was a good time to make a side trip to get rid of the first few beers.

Nice good priced drinks with those who are just like me. Have food sometimes for special occasions and are made by other guests to share while we celebrate.
Great bar and grill! They have a lot of local bicycle traffic which goes with the whole theme of the bar. The service, atmoshere and food are great with very reasonable prices and the daily deals are awesome! Best fish tacos I've had in Iowa!
