Everything was generally good. A few notes. In our room windows were sealed shut (locked and sealed for "customer safety" said the note). From the outside we saw some other rooms had very small windows they could use and open. Please confirm with hotel that your room has a window(s) that open if that is a requirement for you. We did not ask before hand because we've never stayed in an hotel that did not have windows that could not be opened. If we had known no windows opened in that room we would not have booked. These rooms are all real key access. You will receive two on a key chain. One that gives you access to property and one to your room. No key cards here. There is a $150 fee should you loose a key. Pay close attention to what you need. Each room is different as far as amenities offered. Our room suited our needs aside of no windows allowed to be opened which is a huge disclaimer and was not disclosed prior to stay. Air Conditioner unit was clean and functional. Beach access was lovely. Room was clean, visually appealing and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Water pressure was weak but bathroom clean and stocked with plenty of extras. Aside of not being to open one single window, definitely not a bad place to stay. For the number of units they do have enough parking. You will need to ask up front where to park.

The single star is for the gentleman who gave me a courtesy call the evening we checked in, as we would arrive after he left and he wanted to explain the after hours check-in procedure. I wanted to love this hotel. It's very charming. And we had a pleasant, single night stay, and had decided we would stay here again in the future. Unfortunately, I didn't notice I had left my pillow there until late evening after checking out. I called to let them know, but had to leave a voicemail, as their front desk closes at 8pm. If the pillow and silk pillowcase hadn't been such an investment, it wouldn't be such a big deal. I called the next morning and was met with condescention and a weak promise to look for the pillow from the woman on the other end. I decided to call later in the afternoon when I might speak to a different person. I did, and I believe she was the owner, and she was worse. Very rude, dismissive, and apathetic. I won't go into specifics, but neither of them seemed to care about their customer service skills. After all, I had already paid for my room and checked out. I understand that leaving personal property behind was my own fault, but that's a common mistake, and it's customary for hotels to contact their guests when they find a stray item. Pillows don't disappear, so I'm left to conclude this is a case of negligence or theft on their part. Either way, we won't stay here again or recommend it.

I wish I had read the reviews before coming here because there isn't a chance I would have stayed here. The hotel looked promising as you entered the lobby but that is just a facade. We entered the room and to say this place needs an update is the understatement of the year. The carpets were absolutely DISGUSTING. The carpets had a dampness to it to the point my daughter and I had to wear socks to touch the floors. The bathrooms were definitely not well maintained- how difficult is it to add grout to a shower/tub? I was shocked to see how poorly maintained this property is, especially at almost $300/night!! The towels were splattered with bleach...again, a minor thing that can be resolved with minimal cost. Now speaking of cost- you would think that at $300/night you would get good service. Think again. They told me you had to request service in order for anything to be cleaned in the room. So I learned the hard way and made sure I put the sign out for service the night prior. The next morning I went to the front desk and kindly reminded that we would like full service (it was our 3rd day there and the only thing they had done was given us more bleach splattered towels at that point. Given the fact that this is a HOTEL, not an AIRBNB, it is expected that a hotel clean rooms/bathrooms. I know going into an Airbnb that there is no cleaning service which is why it is typically cheaper than a hotel...but this is supposed to be a hotel so service is expected). She confirmed that my request would be granted and jotted down notes to make sure the cleaning service came to our room for a full clean not just a towel swap. We left for a few hours and come to the room- bed still unmade (there was NOTHING on our bed to prevent this service from being done), floors hadn't been vacuumed (nothing impeding from that service)...all they did was another towel swamp. Again, this is after being there for THREE days. I found the someone from the cleaning service and asked if there was a reason why it hadn't been cleaned and they said they had done it. I reminded them that the bed was unmade, not vacuumed - they just did a towel swap. I expect a little more from a hotel that is that pricey...not just a towel swamp..literally that's ALL they do to clean rooms. She took a picture of our key and told me they would take care of it so we left for a few hours. Come back...again, NOTHING done. At that point I was beyond frustrated. I had been extremely cordial and did exactly as the manager had said- put the sign out- but on top of that I kindly asked for the service in the morning, then asked again when it hadn't been done. I went to the front desk to speak to the front desk who happens to be the manager and all I said was "is there a reason why our room still hasn't been cleaned when I took all the steps you told me to take in order to get my room cleaned?" She immediately accused me of lying saying that it had been to which I responded with "I have a video..I can show you" which she responded extremely aggressively saying the way I asked for my room to be cleaned was rude and that she could check me out. Excuse me? I was cordial from the beginning and when I am asking for the simplest service you jump to checking me out. This manager should NOT be working in the customer service industry...after reading other reviews there have been countless examples of her behavior. They finally did come to the room and changed the sheets and vacuumed while we were in the room (I even offered to help make the bed as I didn't mind..I just wanted a little clean up. I would have vacuumed myself!). Reminder- this is a hotel, not an airbnb. If you don't want to provide the simplest services that hotels offer then you need to call yourself an Airbnb. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to have an envelope asking for tips for cleaning the room during our visit. Seriously??

So about this awesome building. It's quite nostalgic. Like something built in the early 1900's and since I don't know it's age I could be off but it's just a great looking building. It has Character. Now the insides/ rooms have been remodeled and updated. I was Thoroughly impressed with our room and the gigantic soaker tub with a view of the beach. Very clean. Smelled clean, not like other places I've stayed that had an underlying musty odor. Management was spectacular to us. Friendly, Helpful and just great people. Since this is the off-season I'm sure we got a great deal and honestly it's just what we needed in a room. Comfy bed, large tv, larger than normal fridge for a hotel room so that was quite a nice surprise. So overall this place far surpassed my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone. It really was a great place to make some memories. I will be back again :)

Booked Ocean Song family suite. It was a condo with 2 bedrooms and full bathroom upstairs, downstairs a nice sized frontroom with seating for 5, fireplace and large TV. Full kitchen that included a stove. Not much kitchenware but Wendy, the manager, was fantastic. She provided us with extra tableware for our family event. Condo was clean and the beds comfy.

Nice location, decent view from the second story Ocean front room, tho a pine tree blocked half of it. The staff was friendly and the room was ok, dated and a bit run down. The whole inn is noisy, thin walls, can hear everything, plumbing noises through our walls was the worst.

Positive: Recently remodeled, decor was really nice & nice thick towels. Staff was extremely helpful & friendly. Great location & beautiful weather. I will stay here again Negative: None

I can't say enough about this gem. The room was amazing. The view was spectacular. But the service was more than I've ever received. I believe her name was Wendy and she was beyond friendly and helpful and attentive. This is a hidden gem you don't want to miss.

It's a long, windy, and narrow road into the day use area, but it's definitely worth it. The coastline is beautiful. The parking was busy when we arrived, and there was a sign saying it was full when there were actually maybe 10 spaces still availabl

June is a great time of year because of all the wildflowers, but parking isn't great (so get there early!) 80% of the hike is relatively easy... but it's that other 20% that reminds you this IS a mountain after all. Don't let that deter you though! J
