The Seafood Shanty - Seafood restaurant in Buzzards Bay - 803 Scenic Hwy, USA

Living in the area we've driven by this place so many times and finally stopped in towards the end of the summer. Wow it was so good! Some of the best fried scallops and lobster role I've ever had. Great outdoor seating and plenty of parking.

Great lobster roll, good size for $30. Onion rings were great, thin, crunchy, and tasty. Chicken tenders and fries just standard stuff. We went to the park across the street to eat. Great views of the canal.

Lobster Roll seemed expensive at $30+… but well worth it! Haven’t had a lobster roll since pre-Covid, so admittedly not up to speed on latest market prices for Lobster. They have a prime location with a beautiful view of the canal so thought there may have been a markup for summer tourists, but even if that was the case, I would gladly pay it again. Additionally, a generous serving of Lobster (with just the right amount of mayo) along with the fries that come with it is plenty of food for two people to share. Friendly employees, nice picnic table seating area with umbrellas for shade (no indoor seating), and plenty of parking. Only negatives of note: (1) I don’t believe there were available indoor bathrooms (may be mistaken but didn’t see any)…There were two portable toilets by the side of the parking lot that were relatively clean, but just a heads up; and (2) they are cash only.

Food is extremely overpriced. $16 for buttered noodles is insane. The beer was warm, they were out of almost everything and my tuna sandwich was raw. Very pretty view though. Wouldn’t recommend this place especially for the price

The food was delicious and we all shared a nice variety of items from the menu. We loved that the onion rings container was piled high because they were so good. The coleslaw was sweet. We loved the fried whole belly clams, scallops, and fish and chips.

I've lived in New England on and off my entire life and this was hands down the BEST fish and chips I've had. The portions are fantastic, but I was not prepared for the perfection that entered my mouth. Stopped on a whim while just passing by and will now make this a regular stop for every trip to the Cape. Photo shows clam strips those were also delicious

Highly recommend the Seafood Shanty. Found this restaurant on a trip to the Cape several years ago and now we will take a day trip just for the Seafood Shanty and it’s excellent fried whole belly clams and scallops. Never had a sandy whole belly here! Their tartar sauce is clearly homemade and amazing. The stuffed clam was not my fav as it was a bit strong on the red bell pepper taste, but their Clam Chowder is on point. Definitely recommend to anyone driving through.
