The Sea Gypsy Bed and Breakfast - Featured Reviews (109)
This is our second summer booking a start at the Sea Gypsy, in the Robert Louis Stevenson room in the Carriage House building. The buildings and rooms are lovely, and that room is perfect for two parents for a small child. It also connects to the neighbouring room, which would make it perfect for extended family trips. We have our own bedroom with a TV to retire to at night, and our daughter likes having her own little trundle bed in the lounge room. The fridge kept snacks and drinks cold, a microwave was there to heat up any leftovers or dinners, and the kitchen sink was welcome to wash water bottles and travel mugs. We used the dining table a couple of times, but usually had breakfast out on the verandah.
Speaking of the breakfast: the food is delicious, and plentiful. Breakfasts are served wrapped and bagged, so it is easy enough to head out the door with them if you want to get out and about early. If you can eat all of it in one sitting, you're good with just snacks until dinner time!
The Sea Gypsy is an easy enough walk to the boardwalk and beach (preschooler legs managed!), and excellent ice cream is just around the corner at The Dugout. The owners are happy to make recommendations for other places to visit, and there are beach supplies, including towels available to borrow if needed.
We are happy to have found this little gem, and look forward to coming back again.
I love The Sea Gypsy! A great comfortable bed and breakfast experience near the beach is hard to find. The owners were flexible, kind, and wonderful to talk to. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The rooms were clean and cozy. Everything was perfect. Th Sea Gypsy will be my go to spot for Wildwood.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. Booked at the last minute during July 4th weekend 2024 for a great price. Very quiet and well kept Victorian style house, old school charm. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom inside of our room. The host Henry was very nice, explained everything to us and offered us parking onsite. Walkable distance to everything only 3 short blocks away from the beach/boardwalk area. Perfect for couples who like peace and quiet. Highly recommended. We left too early for breakfast but it was offered for a small additional fee.
My boyfriend and I had to leave in the middle of the night to get to another motel this place was gross unsafe and unsanitary. They keep the main door unlocked after hours. No air conditioning the bathrooms are extremely small. No service after 7pm. Stay somewhere else. And won’t give a refund they just care about their money nothing else.
Very unique and cozy vintage style bed and breakfast! My first ever bed and breakfast visit and my girlfriend and I loved it! We stayed mid December when visiting Cape May’s Christmas festivities and stayed in the “Longfellow” room. The “in keepers” were very friendly and helpful! My girlfriend is a germ freak, she inspected the room with a flashlight and gave it her seal of approval 😆!
Beautifully decorated for Christmas as well!
Definitely recommend for a couples getaway!
Our stay at the Sea Gypsy was phenomenal! Three of us stayed in the RL Stevenson suite and two of us stayed in Alfred Lord Tennyson room. The Tennyson room was comfortable and roomy with a beautiful, large bathroom. The room is filled with period furnishture and quaint touches. The Stevenson suite was great for 3 people as it had kitchenette, table and chairs which added to the space. It also gave us entry to a large and beautiful upper front porch. The porch extended the living space while, also giving us a great place to relax and people watch. While owners Todd and Nataile are on site and visible on the property, their presence was unobtrusive. We felt comfortable and free to move about, and use the many amenities on the property, including the lovely Victorian House wraparound, porch, the hot tub, and the Queen Anne living room and TV. We recommend these accommodations for anyone needing to stay a couple of nights or more in Wildwood. You will not be disappointed!
Looks nice in pictures||Trash in person||||Run down, old buildings with cheap poorly worked renovations. ||||Really dirty rooms, owners never clean obviously||||Also, owners are grouchy and all about the $$||||STAY AWAY||don't be fooled by the charming pictures
We loved our stay out here! Our room had a lot of space, and the staff were very courteous and accommodating. Breakfast was a highlight; I believe the breakfast is made in-house and it was delicious, along with the candy cupboard! It was a very acceptable price, too. We'll definitely come back here! Thanks again!

Great place to watch the sunset and take pictures. When we came on Thursday there was a live band playing which was fun! There is also a tiny bridge that is perfect to take your picture with views of the bay and the sun setting.
