The Scottsdale Plaza Resort & Villas - Resort hotel in Paradise Valley - 7200 N Scottsdale Rd, USA

This is an older resort. In its heyday, it was probably a top tier location. Unfortunately the rooms are quite dated as is the rest of the facility. ||||The staff are friendly and the service has always been good. Other than the front desk, the interactions with the entire staff has been very positive.||||I have been going to this resort on business for almost nine years. The only reason I leave a review now is a sudden change in the front desk. Upon checkout and review of my folio, there was a $10 charge for Bellman and multiple $3 charges for housekeeping tips.||||Now I don't have any problem tipping either. But it was never disclosed upon my check in, I never used the bell service. And I always leave cash for the housekepping on a daily basis. So when I challenged the front desk person, they were indignat and said it is thier policy. They do have small signs poted at the front desk that they charge 2% for credit card billing.... but they don't accept checks and they require a full stay cash deposit.||||None of this is mentioned in thier booking process, check-in process or online.||||I believe the new owners are trying to be an airline and use hidden fees as anotyher revenue stream. Just raise your rates!||||Luckily I have convinced my client who hosts thier event there every year to move venues next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at this property. Check-in was fast and very friendly. The bellman drove us to our room (we followed in our car) and helped us get our bags up the stairs and into the room. They offer golf cart service anywhere on the property, which is large. The room was average size , but more than enough for my friend and I for one night. The bathroom was very nice with the toilet/shower behind a separate door from the sink/vanity. This is helpful when 2 people are trying to get ready. Needs were very comfortable and plenty of pillows. Air con/heater is controlled by a thermostat and was very responsive. We used the mini fridge and it was cold. Overall we had a great stay and would use this hotel again. We did not use any of the many amenities of the property due to time constraints. The hotel is a short drive to Old Town Scottsdale and there isn't a lot within walking distance.

This is a lovely property with views of the surrounding mountains. There are five pools so one is always close to your space. The main pool is large and has a huge hot tub. My favorite place was the patio near the pool that had comfortable furniture grouped around fire pits. Staff were friendly. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The location on Scottsdale Road made it very easy to get to area restaurants and activities.

Overall excellent experience. We checked in Thursday and I let the front office gal know we were celebrating our anniversary. She upgraded our room and had wine brought to us. Today we checked out and the gentleman was very nice about a late check out. Our room was beautiful and so is the complex. I will definitely be coming back here!

The staff greeted me at the door and check-in was very smooth. The support staff bring you to your door with smiles. The room was spacious and very clean. The front desk staff help me with additional paperwork for the class I presented. The resort is located within a short distance to many fine restaurants and attractions.

Stayed here for a work trip and enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and well-maintained. The pool at the front of the resort is a lot prettier than the ones by the villas. The food was great and we had excellent service. I would happily stay here again. I think this resort is a little older but its still nice. I didn't realize house keeping would come by every day.I left a few things out on the bed that were of value on my first day, I came back and nothing had been disturbed. Very pleased with the earnest of the staff!

We've stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. The spa is an awesome bonus, as they have really good massage therapists on board, and also a full salon. The rooms are always clean, and the eateries on site are excellent. The price is always right, and they give Arizona residents discounts at the spa. Highly recommend

Location was perfect for us. Rooms were set up well and we loved having a seperate seating room and dining area from the bedroom. It was super comfortable. It is an older hotel with 4 rooms/casita and we loved that. Even though it was old it could still use some love. I was ok feeling like I was staying at my Grandma's from the 80's but the 1" think of dust on the bathroom lights and the POOR housekeeping services did not justify the price paid for this resort. It was very quiet and we did use the hot tub near our casita and were the only ones there. They gym had fairly good equipment but the cleanliness and finishes could be improved.
