I like quirky independent places with history and this is one of them. The check in is fairly slow and note that they have several rooming houses. Parking is available around the corner. The whirlpool is dated but fun. There is a certain faux finish to some of the charm, along with some actual historic charm. The location is the best part of it, easy walking distance to the best of Salem. The complimentary breakfast was better than a continental, they make omelets and waffles to order, but the room and the vibe aren't special.

The room was clean and warm. The queen bed was comfortable and sheets smelled clean and soft. The daybed was a little noisy and the trundle bed needs an updated mattress. Neither of us slept on it but we did pull it out to relax by the TV. Love the small kitchen and updated bath. Parking was convenient (behind the building) and all attractions are within walking distance. The small details like complimentary wine and sherry for a night cap are thoughtful and appreciated after a long day of walking around. Breakfast was delicious and a great way to begin a long day. Service at the front desk, breakfast, wine, and text messages, were excellent! Thank you and we will definitely be staying with the Salem In again in the future!

Great location within easy walking distance of most attractions. Our room had old-fashioned decor but with a modern bathroom. After we checked in, we read that our room might be the most haunted room in Salem, if that’s your thing. Nothing happened while we were there except the alarm clock going off at midnight on New Year’s Eve and again a few minutes later. We interpret things like that based on beliefs we already have. I was asleep and never heard it. My wife told me about it. Complimentary breakfast was very good with several choices from which to choose. We were also able to check in quite early, which allowed us to get settled before exploring.

Wonderful stay! We were able to park early. At check-in, it was time for happy hour. Our wine hostess was so friendly! We took our wine out on the patio to enjoy a few quiet moments before exploring Salem. Room was clean, well apportioned & the bed was comfortable. Enjoyed a bed time sherry. Breakfast was also good - especially the coffee & omelet. Highly recommend!

Charming. The cute home-turned-inn is in a prime spot in Salem. I walked to everything I wanted to see, all activities, restaurants, shops. My room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff responded to any requests very quickly and with kindness. Would absolutely stay again.

My recent stay at the Salem Inn in Salem, Massachusetts, was truly outstanding in every aspect. The room, characterized by its pristine cleanliness and unexpected spaciousness, provided a delightful retreat. The jacuzzi tub added a touch of luxury, while the inviting fireplace enhanced the overall comfort. What truly set the Salem Inn apart, however, was its incredibly convenient parking situation. The ease of parking, coupled with the central location, made exploring Salem's historic sites and attractions a breeze. A particularly thoughtful gesture was the Inn allowing us to keep our car in the parking lot even after we checked out. This gesture not only made our departure stress-free but also allowed us to continue exploring the city on foot without the worry of parking. From the charming room amenities to the attentive details, the Salem Inn goes above and beyond to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. Without a doubt, this establishment earns a well-deserved five-star rating for its exceptional service and thoughtful accommodations.

Good sized room for two, working fireplace with included firewood and clean bathroom. Bed was comfortable and bathroom towels were plentiful. |The biggest positive is the location- we parked and didn’t need our car until we decided to go to the beach for a hike. |Nearby restaurants included two vegetarian options, a terrific Moroccan restaurant and lots of pizza places |Hotel has an included breakfast- it is fine - just not good. ||One thing to look out for is a room that is advertised as having an adjacent bathroom - the bathroom is not attached to the bedroom - it is around a small corner and through a second door. We didn’t want it once we saw it and the hotel was gracious in giving us another room since they weren’t full

Easy booking and check-in, and also easy pre-ordering breakfast. Parking lot available. Very helpful and friendly staff, both front desk and restaurant. Staff made paying with gift cards easy. Clean, warm, charming room. Great location. Website is good about specifying accessibility of different rooms (stairs, etc). They let us leave our bags at front desk after checkout for several hours. We’ll be back!

Amazing exhibition. Beautiful story, both authentic and humbling experience. Being able to walk through this house and hear the historical commentary was like being transported back in time. A must see if you are in the area.
