The Royal Motor Inn - Motel in Livonia - 27751 Plymouth Rd, USA

I walked in to ask if anybody had something to spray my room with because it smelled. And as I was standing there an this old indain lady came out and started asking me asking questions if I lived there or not and I answered then she asked what room I was in I said the number and for some reason she got an attitude with me and continued to ask questions as an what's the name of the person that lives there I said my name and she replied that's not the person on the list than I said idk my family put me in here. Because I was homeless and needed a place to stay then she kept asking me who's on the list and kept saying that person is on the list then I asked can you tell me the name of that person that's on the list so I can confirm that they put me in the room and she got a bigger attitude and said I'm not gonna give you anything and I don't have to tell you anything. While I was given her all the info to prove I was in the room. She came out of nowhere just to bother me and I didn't even ring the bell to ask for anybody service I don't even what I did wrong.

I was in town on business this past weekend and stayed at the Royal motor inn decent place walls are paper thin but decent price. Friday evening I didn't have any issues but when Saturday came they needed to move me to another room due to the room I was in was reserved for Saturday . The next room they moved me into I was laying down watching TV in the bed and found what I thought was just a fruit fly on my chest didn't think nothing of it half hour later a huge bed bug was on my pillow! Do not stay here management claim they've never had issues before but by the quantity and the size of these bugs they've been there a while!

Recently stayed there I had no problems with staff my stay was pleasant. I believe that there's new owners and the motel was In need of a change. Im looking forward to SEEING what improvements they are going to make. It's exactly what the motel needed. *** They had NO bed bugs. This is a regular "roach motel"--stay away from it! The guy claimed he was giving me a "deal" but it was the same price as the very clean Day's Inn I ended up staying in the next night (and over a week total). The room looked old but cute when I first walked in but I noticed a lot of dust on the counters and proceeded to use a washcloth to dust it off. When I went to rinse the now very dirty cloth, the water came out BROWN like diarrhea and the hot water faucet didn't shut off right--just turned around in a circle. The water did clear up after it ran awhile but who wants to brush their teeth in that?? I figured if the room was that dusty the bedspread was probably dusty too so I removed it, revealing dead bugs and brown stains on the sheets! Then the TV had no remote and wouldn't turn on and the ice machine didn't work. The floor was filthy and there were thick spider webs full of dead insects in the corners. I decided that was IT, removed my stuff from the room, and checked back out. The worst part was their nonchalant response when I politely explained the problems--they said, "But you were getting it for such a good deal, you can't expect it to be deluxe". They were not upset or chagrined to hear how bad it was, didn't offer any sort of apology, just sent me on my way. Clean spacious room. Comes with neccecities and the maintenance guys are really down to earth cool dudes. Ive been staying here for extended period of time and couldn't be happier. Also super friendly staff at the front desk. All around I have no complaints so far besides I wish their WiFi was running. Don't be scared away by old reviews new management is killing it!

Paid for a whole night only stayed 3 hrs. Left for a little over an hour to go get food, and accidentally left my key in the room. When we got back they wouldn't let us stay or give us a key. They had already cleaned the room and demanded we pay a fee to stay the rest of the night. Terrible customer service.

I'll tell you about this place, for the price you pay you seriously get what you pay for, but it's still the cheapest place to go. It can be dirty most times, and the rooms seem never to be cleaned afterward, the employees are rude and never try to help you, but again they work a pretty meaningless job it's sad. Every time I see anybody in the office they are just sitting there looking horrible and just downright pitiful.

I called around 2pm and a man answered the phone. "Royal Motor Inn, yeah?" "Hello, I was just calling to inquire about any weekly rates you might have available?" "No weekly rates for you, you won't stay for a week. Buh-bye." He then proceeds to hang up. I called him back because I still had questions. He doesn't answer for about two minutes (first call he picked up immediately) "Yes?" "Hello, I'm not sure why you hung up on me but I still have questions, I--" "You want a nightly rate? $60" "You offer no amenities whatsoever and your rooms are poorly kept compared to others in the area. Why do you charge so much a night?" "None of your business." He then hangs up the phone again. Based on the other reviews, I assume that he does this type of thing often. There are better hotels available in the area that offer you more and charge you less. Please don't waste your time or money here.
