Really wanted to enjoy this hotel for a birthday getaway. The heat stopped working in our room on the first night (low temps were in the teens, definitely needed heat). We notified the front desk and they moved us to the “emergency room” basically in the lobby. This room was half the size of the room we booked and everything was a little bit broken, including the bathroom door which would not stay shut. Every time we asked, the front desk told us they were working on it and would let us know as soon as a comparable room became available. We were never moved or offered a comparable room. Because we paid in full when we made the reservation, the hotel refused to provide any refund. Very disappointed and recommended staying elsewhere.
Such a lovely and delightful experience! Roundhouse came highly recommended to us while taking a well-deserved getaway weekend in beautiful Beacon, NY. It's located right on the waterfalls at the end of the popular main shopping street, with spectacular scenery. It's a beautiful huge space with floor to ceiling windows right on the lit waterfalls with all the tables for 2 romantically tucked in, for ultimate ambiance. The entire staff, from the beautiful bar to everyone that helps you at your table, are professionally kind, friendly and engaging. Everyone seems very happy to be at work and do what they do, all the way around including the table bus, which, to me, is a sign of a good work environment and proper management. As a person in a service industry, it's something I notice, and it stands out. The foods are all well prepared and beautifully presented. Unfortunately the runt of the meal was the Ceasars salad, which seems like it was made a few hours ago and lacked flavor, but my husband's Duck and my Steak and accompaniments were expertly prepared and great quality ingredients! Everything was delightful!
Beautiful locatoon overlooking the falls. The room was spectacular, located in the mill building. It was spacious. The barn door to the bathroom was difficult and would slide open/not stay closed. Our only interaction with staff was check in and out and a greeting to the maintenance staff. Everyone was curteous. We did not have a chance to try the restaurant as there are so many on Main. This location is phenomenal and we would return.
I had an unforgettable experience at the Roundhouse Hotel and Restaurant in Hudson, New York. The historic charm of the building is complemented by modern elegance, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's culinary offerings are nothing short of exquisite, with a menu that showcases the finest in local ingredients and flavors. From farm-to-table delights to expertly crafted cocktails, every aspect of the dining experience was impeccable. The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall warmth of the place. Whether you're staying in their cozy rooms or indulging in a remarkable meal, the Roundhouse is a hidden gem that promises a memorable and luxurious escape in the heart of Hudson. I can't wait to return for another exceptional visit!
I placed a straightforward order for a well-done burger, expecting it to be cooked to perfection. However, to my surprise and dismay, when my meal arrived, I was served a rare burger instead of the well-done one I had requested. While the ambiance and service were pleasant, the kitchen's failure to get such a fundamental order right left a lasting negative impression. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback to heart and improves its attention to detail and food preparation standards to ensure a better experience for future customers.
Overpriced and cheaply built, designed and furnished. This is not a hotel worth spending a night. As a couple, we stayed at the hotel for a wedding, which was held in the very impressive event building of the property. That building, adjoining a roaring waterfall was delightful and very well laid out. The food was very good, particularly considering that the staff served about 200 people.||But once the party was over and we went back to our room, we tripped on the cheaply built bed, that looked like it came from Ikea, and then in the bathroom, where the doorless shower has a raised entry in black tile. Worse, we had to listen to the heels of someone in the room above walking around the hardwood floor.||Don't think you'll be able to have breakfast there, even though the website and our confirmation said that meal was included in the price. We had a bag hanging from the door handle with two undercooked, very small bagels and two muffins. We were told orange juice in the mini-fridge was included. There is a restaurant, but it's only open for lunch and dinner on certain days.||A pretty standard room costs $450 per night on weekends, probably twice, maybe three times more than it's worth. Oh, and be prepared to go from reception in one building and carry your bags to most of the hotel rooms and the closed restaurant in another building down a driveway and along the sidewalk.||The town is a cute Hudson River array of shops selling nothing you need, and probably won't want, but a nice 30 minute walk past the store windows. The Roundhouse is at least very close to that main street and the front desk staff are very pleasant.
This was our 3rd stay over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend visiting from Washington, DC. The property remains unique and rooms are spacious with the unique charm of its legacy in the conversion. The halls could use a paint touch up (lots of scuffing everywhere which cheapens the look). I would suggest considering in shower soap/shampoo dispensers with a high grade label (like Aesop) and remind cleaning staff to refresh toilet paper products as needed daily (I had to ask). Also — how about a better coffee maker like Nespresso and upgrade the coffees (the Green Mt. brand is awful and too weak). Yogurts were delicious. Why even call the “dog snack” ring a bagel 🥯?! Easy upgrade. Pillows could use a rotation and how about a more plush duvet/top spread? Finally - shower design is dumb (while very European). Water gets everywhere and our bathroom (215) could use more clear caulking around shower glass wall and the floorboards! Again water pools outside of shower on bathroom floor. Why take a risk on flooding rooms below? Would suggest weekly maintenance walkthroughs of each room to touch up what is needed. Will be back! Maintain your distinguishing characteristics! Don’t skimp!!
This review is strictly for the restaurant - for the prices, very disappointing. If you eat here stick with something simple. Service was good but the food is mid. The only thing that was good was the octopus. We got the trout and the scallops. Trout was overcooked and dry, and the potatoes it came with were undercooked. The scallops themselves were tasty, but the “heirloom” tomatoes were just grape tomatoes from the grocery store… For over $40, both of those entrees were a complete ripoff.
Great meal and doing experience. We're considering having a wedding in the area. We had heard that Carter's did catering with our potential venue and had just walked in to have lunch. When we told the waiter we were interested in their catering, he g
We were here for Sunday brunch. I had the Ultimate Bloody Mary and classic Eggs Benedict. It was perfect. The bloody had a nice spice to it and the shrimp, cheese stick, and chicken tender were all good. The eggs were awesome. Highly recommend. It cu

Extremely flavorful Tibetan food in a relaxed and warm environment! Has a full meat menu and an entirely separate menu for vegan options. This was some of the most tasty and satisfying food Iâve had since my local Ayurvedic restaurant closed down p
This is a dream of a cafe. For someone who is trying to not drink as much caffeine due to anxiety, having a matcha cafe here is amazing. I tried the hojicha thomas for $6 and it was 100% worth it. This is a drink youâll enjoy if you like earthy cre
This is a moderate difficulty trail. Great views from the top, worth the extra mile to go to the fire tower. Bring good shoes, and enough water, you'll probably be sweating on the way up.
