The Root Cafe - American restaurant in Little Rock - 1500 Main St, USA

We were excited to try this place. Unfortunately, it proved to be a disappointment. Food was cold - all of it. Our order of sweet potato fries/regular fries was grossly under portioned. When it was brought up, the manager said if we wanted more we would need to buy another order. Even the employee trying to help us was surprised. I cannot recommend this place. Total waste of time and money. Definitely NOT wheelchair accessible. ((Photo of fries was the second order))

My wife and I wanted to meet up with family to catch up and decided her last minute and I'm so glad we did. The Café is pet friendly and offers outdoor seating (both closed patio and fully outdoors) which was great because our family had two dogs traveling with them. The front area was a little crowded as it got busier with the lines going to the counter to order and lines to the bathrooms but we didn't have an issue with this and the line was relatively quick moving. We made it in time for breakfast and got both of their "benedicts" with sides of buscuits and gravy which all tasted amazing. Their freshly squeezed orange juice is also a must - either by itself or as a mimosa!

Love this little jewel tucked away in central Little Rock. Get ready for a taste of amazing flavors! We had the pickled brined tofu sandwich and the curry chicken salad sandwich. Both were ah-mazing! The staff is super friendly and work hard to brighten your day, along with making great suggestions. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are! Topped off our visit with a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie ❤️

Passing through LR on way to TN and searched for a lunch place with a patio that allowed pets. This place was perfect and weather was lovely on the courtyard with a slight breeze. My chicken curry salad was delicious! My husband had the pimento burger and ate every bite. We split the sweet potato fries which were amazing. Highly recommend!

A cute and small eclectic brunch on Main Street. A cute little area for kids to play or hangout: they have outside sitting as well. Everything item is selectively picked/grown/farmed, very cozy feel to the food. Self serve little drink area.

Nice vibe and good food. Cornbread to start was great. Also the meatloaf and pulled pork were very good. EDIT DROPPED FEW STARS IN SERVICE; in case you want breakfast be sure to calculate 20-30min to get to order on a Saturday. They took orders super slow (literally 5 minutes per guest/group!) and all times warned "we are ending breakfast in X minutes now but you should be fine" then closing right in front of another couple and us instead of just acknowledge they are super slow and serving breakfast.. The other couple left and as we also didn't want a burger or the other lunch options as breakfast we left across the street for a nice brunch. Last photo is from that place. More modern location too with nice music so a good option if you don't want to be treated like a child)

What a great experience! Food was outstanding, the flavor profile, the freshness, love that it is locally sourced. It is so rare these days to find food that was actually made fresh. The staff were as excellent as the food, friendly and fun!

The food at the Root was well prepared and attractively plated. The staff took extra time to assist with our order. The dining area was clean and presentable. Additionally, their is outdoor dining is pleasant and away from the street to provide a pleasant experience! The menu is a bit limited but everything was well prepared.
