We love finding beautiful historic homes when traveling that offer something other than cookie cutter hotel rooms. The Rockwell House is this gem of a find. We were at first disappointed that the home was not in the downtown area of other historic homes but once we entered he home we were thrilled. The attention to detail, comfort, updating and authenticity is amazing. We were the only guests so did take a perk at all the rooms - any if them would have been perfect but we were in The Blue Room and it was grand. If Rockwell House is still operating as an inn the next time we travel through Millegeville we will definitely stay again.
Amazing house and property!! Furnishings are beautiful and our room (blue) was comfortable with a nice bathroom. Kitchen had everything you could need plus every modern appliance it seems like. Coffee press, drip maker and kcup. Utensils, dishes pans etc.
Emails and messages were answered quickly and Ross immediately answered when I called on Saturday evening!
This would be a great place for a small group or family gathering. Highly recommend it if you’re going to be staying in the area.
The place is huge and our weather was cold and rainy so it was a bit cool in the the house.
I visited this beautiful home with a friend four years ago and photographed it prior to the restoration. Another friend and I visited after the restoration. It was such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay as I was still feeling a bit rundown about a bout with Covid months before. I loved the town of Milledgeville. I plan to visit both Rockwell House and the surrounding area again in the future. Check out their site and book a stay soon yourself.. lots of cool, eclectic places to eat and shop. 📸
We had my daughter's wedding here it was perfect to visit and get ready with several family members. Mr. Ross and Divida were great to work with. We had lots of compliments on the venue.
I stayed for 3 nights in the Pink Suite while visiting my son who is doing an internship in Milledgeville. This place was perfect! It’s beautiful, serene and all together fantastic. I pretty much had the whole place to myself while I was there and there is something surreal about waking up in your huge antebellum house and going to your kitchen for coffee through gorgeous rooms. There was one problem with the gate opening and the owners had someone over to open it right away. I would move into the pink suite given the chance! Lol
Stayed here on a quick trip to Milledgeville while on my way to Atlanta, and it was truly delightful. The history of this house is fascinating, as are the ongoing renovations--both of which Ross, one of the owners, related enthusiastically. He is an amazing host! The "blue room" was luxurious and private--far more comfortable than many high-end places I have stayed. Everything is impeccably decorated, each detail thoughtfully curated. I am so happy that a piece of the town is being preserved and reinvigorated in this way when the character of so many Southern towns is lost to "progress." If I ever come back to this area again, I will definitely stay here. It would make an excellent event venue as well. Thank you so much, Ross, for this beautiful trip back in time!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thankful Ross made it possible by brilliantly buying and renovating this historic 1838 house.
We were welcomed and felt like we lived there.💛💕

My husband and I came to stay the night at Rockwell House after coming across it on google. It exceeded our expectations. The first floor has 14 foot ceilings and gorgeous hardwoods that don’t even creak, which is crazy for a house that old! The decor was beautiful and fit the era of the house so well. Our room was spotless and candles lit on our arrival. Highly recommend.
